Off topic but did anyone else have issues logging into their nhl live account on nhl.com to watch the game? I couldn't watch the game because it wouldn't let me past the login screen? It would just give me the loading wheel but then reset to the login screen again. Called Rogers and like usual they were useless and didn't know what to do?

See this is where you need good coaches. To develop a guy like Valimaki who is not nearly the Makar type we thought we were getting.

Most would be more interested in which player(s) would be responsible for being positive difference makers...in a win.

Sam was not that.

Nor has he been for many seasons.

An argument can be made that they were the worst of the worst in this one.

Edmonton took advantage and we didn't, or couldn't adapt.

Avatars are kind of like coaches. You put them in place and then they are there 100% of the time until you change them

It really seems that Ward doesn't have the answers. The team has been playing worse and worse in different ways. From a perceived lack of energy and preparation some nights, to a lack of execution like today, and then the blatant roster decisions, player usages, match-ups - there is nothing about the Flames right now that I can say they are good at - not consistently anyway.

I said it yesterday, and I will say it again today - I will be surprised if Ward lasts the week. This is already 1/3 of the season played. How long do you wait? Flames pt% is .472. The next lowest in front of them is .600. Sure, you can point at 'Ottawa Games' and all, but I will point right back at losing records against every other team in front of them.

I really hate to see people lose their jobs - Ward seems like a good guy for the most part, and I won't be 'celebrating' it when it happens. This is a results-oriented business, and it seems painfully obvious by now that Ward is not getting the results.

Sure, maybe it is on the players instead. I am 100% sure that they are not blameless either. Heck, maybe they deserve MOST of the blame even. Whatever your thoughts are on who shoulders the blame, I find it difficult to defend Ward as being anywhere near a 'part of the solution'. He seems very much a part of the problem here. He seems lost. Maybe he doesn't want to provide any insight at the moment, but maybe he is just being vague and throwing out some cliches because he really doesn't have any answers to what is wrong.

Will be interesting to see how the team responds through the rest of this road trip.

Ever time you post , it’s an extreme embellishment of his actual performance and contribution!

Yep. But hey, at least they managed to keep that offensive dynamo Gaetan Haas off the scoresheet!

Is it any surprise we're seeing the same results like the Nashville loss a year ago and the game 6 meltdown against Dallas over these last two games? Ward never says anything of substance that catches my attention, I doubt he catches the players attention either. It's no wonder why they look lost and they lose, even when the effort is there.

Reading on Twitter and watching video. Apparently Gelinas came over to tkachuk as he was cheering on Bennett during the fight and tapped him on the shoulder to tell him to stop encouraging it. Also reported by Friedman.

If true... wtf fire everyone! If we can’t cheer for teammates fighting then I’m done with this team

Complaining about Sam over and over gives some people attention. Pretty obvious the rest of the team struggled and that is worth talking about. I thought Sam gave a real solid effort tonight and was glad to see Ward didn't bench him. Should have have changed things up for the defensive pairings that were struggling though.

Can you please link any verified twitter accounts or video where this is visible?

I would completely tune out from everything Calgary Flames until this coaching staff had an overhaul if this is true.

This can't be true. If it is, jeez. Out with the entire coaching staff. WTF

Friedman post game comments. Not sure how to find online

Am looking though, because I’m unimpressed.

Monahan has scored an average of 27 goals per season since he's been in the league. Though I agree, another one for right wing is sorely needed.
