Late to posting, but Arizona looks so much better with Hopkins and Murray on offense. AZ defense also getting it done, for the most part. 1st place in the division (Seattle, AZ, SF, and LAR) is going to be a bloodbath.

But it's 4th and 1. A play you convert roughly 85% of the time. Mahomes had 155 yards in the fourth quarter. He is at least 75% to get the Chiefs into makeable FG range. It was a poor decision and it cost them the game.

Everybody’s a genius after the fact. Romo is very good at his job.

If the Chiefs had needed a touchdown or to get closer, they would have done so. By that point, Mahomes was firing on all cylinders.

Yeah, but saying they should go for it is not why he's good at his job. For years analytics guys have wanted coaches to go for it more on 4th and 1, even in their own territory, especially against elite offenses, and especially when giving the ball back to the best QB in the world needing only a FG to win. You can say great job by Butker and had he missed Lynn would be a genius, but Lynn was actually making the wrong percentage play punting it. Not like it was 4th and 15, you have a mobile quarterback to boot, get him on the edge with options and it should be a 90% at worst play. This is what separates mediocre coaches from great one.

It’s just another example of why Romo is great at his job. He regularly anticipates where the ball is going and has a great feel for the game. Lots of people are smart after the play is over but this was just another example of him making the right call on the spot.

People like us hammering on keyboards get to sound like experts after the game and act like we could coach a team. Who would have thought while he was playing that he was that smart a player.

Speaking of not going for it on 4th an 1, the Seahawks call a passing play on 3rd and 1 and then punt it, despite being completely unable to stop the Pats offence this half with no secondary or pass rush to speak of. This has the potential to be a total disaster.
And, that is a completely terrible call to help them out. Which you should have seen coming. EDIT: Nevermind, illegal contact not PI.

All the Hawks needed was 1 yard. Going to be a exciting ending, but like you said this could be a disaster.

They still have a timeout. They can throw it short of the end zone and try to run it in. Which is what will happen I'm sure.
EDIT: And there it is. They'll just give it to Cam and let him run it in, which he will do successfully. This game is over.
