Well, he didn't get called up to be the #1 goalie. He just took over the job when he came up.
They didn't make trades during that skid though. Then, the night they broke the slump they announced a trade for Joey Mullen within 30 minutes of the win.
I believe they had a trade worked out early on in the slump but Fletcher wanted to wait for them to win a game before making the trade.
