Johnny has zero confidence and Brodie should not be on the ice in OT

What? Six of their past 10 were on the road - 6 of their last 12 actually. They have played 10 of 18 on the road. Total travel distance:

Oct....: 6,949
Nov...: 4,154
Total: 11,103

Flames:

Oct..: 17,329
Nov...: 4,162
Total: 21,491

Even though the Blues were playing their 4th road game in a row while the Flames are at home, their Nov travel distance is still equal.

And they had 2 days off before this game, after travelling all the way from Edmonton (where they basically had that day off as well)

Am I the only one that doesn't give a toss about a user going off on a rant? I skip right past the posts don't care. People quoting the rant over and over doesn't help though.

A rant is one thing. Being rude to another poster - repeatedly, and completely unprovoked - is another.

Agree about quoting them, just don't

No, you’re not the only one. But people do care, so might as well let them and just skip those posts as well. Hardly makes a difference.

The one thing that stands out about the Blues is they are a very big team, and play their system very well. I don't know whether that played with Johnny's confidence or not, but he was definitely not playing the way we normally expect him to.

It was obvious in the first part of the game that the Blues really came to play. I think the Flames did well to match their play throughout the game, and for that I was proud of them.

Both goalies played well. Thankfully the "puck luck" finally turned in our favor near the end of the game, which made a slightly boring game more exciting for the fans.

I was disappointed with our performance in OT. It seemed to me we were satisfied with the point and were in no hurry to get the other one.

Something to consider about the Flames' effort last night...

The Blues clearly caught us a little off guard with their speed, and it showed. They had 11 shots after 10 minutes of last night's game.

We held them to 17 shots in the last 53 minutes.

any one else think the first goal was because of a Rittich misplay - shot was going wide of the net and he stopped it and left in front of the net

Depends on what it's all about I guess. A poster who is going way over the line calling out another poster with no real reason at all, like he did, deserves a community response, which he got.

and then left the post wide open for an easy wrap around.

He played that whole sequence really poorly, and it set the tone for the entire game by giving the Blues the lead.

Other than that though, he was great.

Something else to consider about the game last night is that was the defending cup champs without their leading goalscorer from last year.

agree he played well over all but also made an indecisive play with the puck behind the net just after that - seemed to settle down after that.

Yes, and one or two other times he gave the puck away instead of just letting the defenseman have it. I wish goalies would play the puck less, but it is part of the game I guess.

I wish we won, but I think this will be the game where players, coaches and management will be forced to look into the mirror and address some issues. I predict a much different team after this little extended break(1 game in the next week). If not, there will be changes.

Sure, but offensively, they weren't all that dangerous. They managed to get a lead and then focused on what they do best: playing defense, and keeping the play along the boards.

If Johnny is being pushed around why can't he bulk up a little? Or is that impossible for some reason.

Do you think missing their leading goal scorer contributed to them not being 'all that dangerous' offensively?

Sure, but then, what was your original point?
