How has nothing changed after Monday? The Coyotes in a must win for both teams gave up just 22 shots to this team and had 40 themselves with considerably less talent. This is inexcusable defending, some of the worst I’ve ever seen in the playoffs.

It doesn’t look like coaching to me, looks like players not ready or too nervous for the playoffs. I don’t feel like Peters is getting out coached, his best players haven’t showed up, the AVS have.

Getting eliminated in the 2nd round is failure for most playoff teams yet our playoff history has been so abysmal that we consider that a great postseason.

Monahan is giving what he has, he's miscast as a centerpiece on a top line. He's a complimentary piece who adds serious value when he competes like he did tonight, but neither he or lindholm are possession threats. Calgary has 2/3 of a first line, unfortunately that 1/3 is a top flight center.

Oilers have more playoff wins than the Flames since 2010...

Edit: actually since 05...
But hey, we’re awesome right?

I’m “only” a center ice subscriber so only $149/yr but that’s the last cent the nhl gets from me. Rules only exist when it’s convienient so not interested in following a sport with subjective rules. No I’m not blaming this series on the refs but they’ve definitely been a factor.

Team was able to walk into the playoffs with no urgency this shouldn't be a surprise. Look at what happened to Tampa. No will whatsoever to win.

Gaudreau would probably be happy to be traded to Philadelphia. Not sure who would come back in return though.

please stop with the fact calgary didn't make a trade at the deadline...

AVs are winning because their players are faster and have a way better game plan than the Flames. having Mckinnon, landeskog and Rantanen doesn't hurt either;;;

the Avs didn't make a trade at TD day and are kicking the flames butts

FYI the highest point earning trio was the top line on Columbus and they shut down Tampa. MacKinnon and co were 2nd I believe.

Just one series win since the 2004 lockout. Just one conference finals appearance in the last 3 decades.

I'm tired of hearing that it's bad luck, or bad officiating, or bad whatever. The fact of the matter is that this organization has severely underdelivered over the past 3 decades. That's the cold hard truth and there's no point in trying to deny it.

And don't give me the "the series isn't over yet" line. It's absolutely over. It's men vs boys out there, and the Avs are absolutely steamrolling this team right now. Smith is the only reason this series is slightly less embarrassing than the Tampa/Columbus series.

My message to the Flames ownership and management is simply this, you want me to keep giving a crap about this team and the NHL? Show me RESULTS. Plain and simple. Patience is a finite entity, and every person reaches their breaking point eventually.

This team is built to do well in the regular season. So stupid that the NHL completely changes all rules come playoff time. Need a team of big bodies, hitters, and a couple of scorers. I guess the strategy is to build a team that can barely make playoffs under regular season rules and then excel in playoffs.

BT should seriously look at moving Monahan in the offseason. If it wasn't for Johnny he would be no where near a first line center. If the Flames continue to have Monahan as their #1 center, we arent winning anything anytime soon.

People can rag on Johnny all they want, the guy has no support what so ever from his line mates. That being said, he needs to man up.

James Neal and Mark Jankowski have to come out of the lineup. Pathetic performance from both of them.

Brodie can sit, put in Kylington. with the last two games I'd rather have his offense with a couple defensive mistakes instead of Brodies absolute nothing and his abysmal defense.

Mike Smith... what can I say. It's so SAD that the team can't put fourth a complete game and win him these games, just completely wasting these solid goaltending performances.

We gotta win out. Do I see it happening? Not with the way the team has been playing. If we can get back to playing Flames hockey and not Avalanche hockey, then yeah the Flames can easily win 3 in a row.
