Disappointed that Bennett and Gio didn't get a chance in the shootout ahead of Hanifin and Jankowski. But hindsight is 20/20 I guess. Great game despite the result.

4th in the league
6th in GF/G
3rd in GA/G
10th best PP
13th best PK

Flames are elite. They lost to another elite team in a shootout.

People should be jacked about the Flames this year.

The shootout sucks as was already said by many, but I think the worst thing for me about this loss is no ATL report!

Bennett with a beautiful game but no to him in the shootout based on what I’ve seen. Anyone remember his penalty shot earlier this year? It wasn’t good, to put it nicely.

Just watched the game, what a fantastic game, lived up to all the hype for sure.

That OT though, wow, insanely fun to watch, Johnny is incredible this year.

Rittich was flat out awesome. So many big saves. Domingue was ok in regulation but outstanding in OT and the SO

Calgary was very good, and unfortunately unlucky. Tampa was also very good, but lucky.

Flames score 7 of the 8 total goals (redirected 3 of the 4 TB goals past Rittich) and end up tied 4-4.

Stripes again missing penalties on the other team. That’s disappointing but expected. Flames take care of their own business.

Fun game. Would recommend.

One thing I noticed last night, not a big deal just an opinion.

Overtime is so much about control now, being 3 on 3, I think Rittich should have come out to negate the icing in O.T., to keep control. With the faceoff after the icing, they gave up the puck and led to a scoring chance for TB.

Just an adjustment I would probably make in Overtime to maintain control of the puck.

I’ve noticed most goalies making this play, it’s definitely the right move.

I was actually thinking the same. I yelled at my TV for him to stop the puck but he didn't hear me.

I would be curious what Peters has instructed in practice for that situation. Would love it if a reporter asked him.

Rittich got burned in that other OT (Stars?) where he came out to play it and had nowhere to send it so maybe that's why he stayed in his net this time.

Yeah but there was a skater (Brodie?) coming this time, wasn't there? I thought he could have just played it and the defender could have stood behind the net while the forwards changed.

Academic at this point. Still a great game.

Love this team! Bennett looked amazing last night. Maybe the best he’s ever looked. Needs to stay on that line for the rest of the year.

I’ll never be mad about a shootout loss, Johnny and Janko got robbed on their moves and Hanifin hit the post. Flames play Tampa well as seen over the last few years. A playoff series would be more than fun with them...

Completely understood, but neither of those sports have ties or 3 point games, so they can use that type of terminology.

Still i'd rather have a TSN broadcast where the sound is synced to the play and not know the Flames score before the puck goes in the net.

Sportsnet sucks crapballs.

Its just so awesome how Peters, or maybe the entire coaching staff is developing players.

Bennett is one of them. I think we can all agree that he probably won't reach what we thought was his lofty potential, but he is getting opportunities that I don't think he has had before.

I'm not sure what Peters saw last night that prompted him to swap Lindholm and Bennett, but I liked it. I think Lindholm's home is on the top line, but if a game needs it, I like that they can drop him down to give the Flames a more balanced attack on lines one and two.

If they can somehow develop a bit of chemistry in the bottom six, we're off to the races. The bottom six I don't think is ever really outmatched, but their production could use a bit of a kick. We are really top heavy with offensive production.

I'm getting tired of the Neal jabber, that horse is an Ikea hotdog by now. The one thing I will say about Neal, is that he has a painfully obvious extra spring in his step when he gets his shift with Monahan and Gaudreau. Maybe he is conserving himself for the stretch drive and playoffs, who knows. If he were to bring that energy to his regular shifts his stat line might be a little less craptastic.
