And as to the bold, you're just making excuses for GG. The fact is, he refused to try other things - just keep throwing the same lineup out there and hope for different results.

Every year the roster changes, and every year starts with a belief that it is improved.
But I have no doubt that the single biggest improvement was removing GG. The Flames play a very different game now than they did under Gully, there are several obvious differences which are a function of different coaches, and their systemic changes and messaging.
I was thankful we got rid of a detrimental coach, but was unconvinced with the Peters hire. The comparisons are normal and natural, I don’t know why commenting on it and celebrating its success would bother anyone.

I agree, the coaching change is the main improvement. It's hard to say if Peters was the best replacement... who knows.
There is usually a breaking in period with a new coach though as the new coach has to undo the previous coaching. When GG took over, a lot of people put up with the poor results and justified it as "uncoaching" what Hartley taught them. Looking at the early results, if Peters is "uncoaching" what GG taught them, the early results look good and the team is ahead of schedule. Still a lot of games left this season, but any time there is a coaching change, I feel the 1st season under the new coach is going to be a little erratic.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Read somewhere that it takes 20 games for a team to adjust to a new coach (usually, there's always exceptions).
Thats seems like what it took the Flames.

That was me, not Jiri.
And what I have called annoying is not posters pointing to coaching differences. What is annoying is the fact the the team is playing good hockey and winning and yet there is constant griping and complaining about a head coach who is no longer employed by the Flames. There is a not-so-subtle difference here between simple comparison and fairly unhealthy wallowing in the past.

It's the single biggest change from last season. And the team is fun to watch again. Of course it is going to come up a lot.

It was in!
We still talk bitterly about the Gelinas 'goal' over a decade later and in almost any game versus the Lightning, Oilers winning the McDavid lottery is still being talked about, GG can be talked about and referred to when he was still employed this calendar year and had a disastrous effect on the team.

It would be great if all posts were submitted with only the highest standards of quality, articulation, thoughtfulness, and grammar. But it is pointless to hope for that on a message board because it is unachievable.
Bitching about every post we don't like is also - wait for it - annoying.
