I hope Stone is shipped out too...out of Ottawa to the Flames!

David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod
Tobias Rieder is down to 3 teams. No decision yet, as negotiations are ongoing.

Would still love Tobby on this team; if we could ship out Frolik I think he’s a good young replacement of a player like Frolik but I think we are done adjusting the bottom 6.

No news on Neal...at all? Odd. Waiting to be paid by someone who loses out on JT?

I can see us being one of those teams. Our bottom six was a mess last year and three solid pieces really could change things.

Seems I’m in the minority and I’ve said it a couple times already but the term and the suggested cost is outrageous for a 31 year old. He has steep decline written all over him. IMO we need to avoid Neal at anything close to the suggested numbers.

I am wanting to watch cnn to see if Trump puts some sort of import tariff on Canadian born hockey players signing in the us.

Not entirely joking .......

I'm definitely a Rieder fan. But why not just sign Shore? Shore would be good too (in my opinion) and would likely come dirt cheap.

I wonder if the Flames don't go the JVR route with James Neal and pay a premium on cap-hit to keep the term at 4 years (aligns with Gaudreau's expiration).

(also, anyone else looking at Taylor Hall's contract being up in 2 years and dreaming of what may be?)

Anyone think maybe the Flames circle around and sign Stewart on a cheap 1 year deal?

Maybe they could surgically remove Hathaway or Lazar's motor and implant it in his massive frame.

Stewart is just so bad I don't see it happening. I don't see anything he brings to any role on the team at this stage.

I think he'll be on his way to Europe at the end of the day.

Calgary born, and Flames fan Taylor Hall coming home to stick it in the face of our rivals further. It would be perfect.

Stewart looked lazy to me, which is something considering he was on a new team. He was also too happy for my taste (not scary at all).

Yeah he's lazy, but he's also a big body and can fight, also moves okay despite how big he is, and he also scored 10 goals with limited 4th line ice time.

Not sure I want them to do it, but after missing out on Reaves I could see it happening.

the minority isn't vocal is all...

I like Neal, but term and length will both be too much... if you could get him to sign 3 years like PS did, then sure... otherwise i'd steer clear

I'd rather see Shore brought back.

Yuck, no thank you. His play in the defensive zone was something else. Surely we have better options in Stockton. I'd even bring back Shore first.

I think Prout will be one of our Punchy fellas this year, but I agree we're probably looking for someone up front...just not sure it'd be Stewart. That Chris Wagner dude looked like he would have been a good choice, but he signed with Boston.

Oh, where'd you see that? It definitely seems like the Flames aren't done adding talent to the top end of their roster - which is awesome. Get it done Tree!
