We haven't seen the best of either team in this series (because they are such formidable opponents) but I feel like the Preds have underperformed more than the Jets have, and that's why I think they will ultimately will (they can play much better whereas the Jets can play a bit better)
I might have been singing a different tune if the Jets won today, though :P

well, im finally coming down after that loss and game. its insane how much the intensity revs up.
huge props to the jets for having the jam to tie it up. i thought they outchanced and outplayed nashville in their own barn, which gives me confidence if we need a big win in game 5 or 7 we can do it.
disappointing to lose but nashville wasn't getting swept at home. the split and home ice is huge. tomorrow will drag on. GO JETS. i love my team,i love my hometown. win or lose.

MTS Centre is the place to be Tuesday night. Winnipeg fans have paid the price over the years. The white-out is somewhat nostalgic for me of earlier days, and its not hard to jump on their bandwagon. Go Jets.

Disagree. I can't think of an ex-Smythe Division opponent bandwagon that I have ever jumped on and I'm not starting now. I'm a big Preds fan right now.

It would be like cheering for the Oilers or Canucks.
Gross.

Their obnoxious fans make it really hard too. My cousin was bitching on Facebook last night about the panel not kissing enough Jets ass during the second intermission. Give me a break.

I was on the Kings' bandwagon when Darryl and Regehr were going for their Cups, but the Nucks, Oilers, and Jets can all go to hell.

I wouldn't expect people on CP to cheer for the Jets. I also wouldn't want to be lumped in with Canucks fans; those people are scum. Online fans are as close to ultras as you'll get. In rl at work lots of people are very cordial and cool about the Jets right now. Not all are necessarily cheering along, some are, but mostly its well wishes and a such. It was the same back home when the Flames are in the playoffs. Most people like us don't have this built in hate for other Canadian teams. I actively cheer against the Flames in the playoffs now ( I keep it off here of course) but my Dad and brother both jump on the bandwagon.
I suppose i don't think Winnipeg and Calgary ever developed the same rivalry of disgust as is the Battle of Alberta or the Calgary-Vancouver battles in the 1990s. At least not for me. I just don't find cheering for the Jets difficult as a Flames fan. Frankly, i'm envious of how things have turned out in Winnipeg.
But nonetheless, what's not to like about how the Jets reacquired their team or have gone about constructing it? I would also take A LOT of satisfaction watching Bill Daly and/or Bettman have to go to Winnipeg and hand out the stanley cup to the Jets, after acquiescing all those years ago and letting the Jets go to Arizona all in the name of expanding the reach of hockey into the sunbelt. That moment would be priceless viewing for me.
Cheering for any of the teams in Bettman's expansion locations is something i just can't get myself to do. Those expansion teams represent everything that is wrong with the NHL today !!!!!
Yeah, I don't really get why Flames fans, of which I am one, hate the Jets so much. Of course, I'm in Ontario, so I'm not immersed in Alberta's hockey culture.
The rivalry with the Oilers needs no explanation.
There have been plenty of playoff series and bad blood between the Flames & Canucks.
The leafs are just downright annoying and obnoxious, they monopolize media coverage, and then there are the trades with the Flames...
There's some Finals history with the Habs.
Apart from their owner, I don't see much reason to dislike the Sens.
And then there are loathsome non-Canadian teams like the Dirtbag Ducks, and there's some history with the Kings & Sharks.
But the Jets? I don't remember the playoff series the Flames had against them in the mid-80's. Are they that big a deal now? And Winnipeg lost their team to a city whose franchise ended up in terrible shape financially and which has been pretty much irrelevant since moving to Phoenix. I find the Jets to be one of the few feel-good teams.

Corral I don't necessarily agree with you but that is certainly an interesting take . I think that its good that the game is growing, but it should not be at the expense of the Canadian markets. That said, I have to agree that watching Bettmen have to grovel and get boo'd would be a good silver lining to watching the Jets win. Otherwise, I actively cheer against any other Canadian team then the Flames because I would hate to see their fans get any bragging rights.
