You're right, they never show them on TV or play them on the radio. I have no way to view these interviews and make a judgement on them.
I'm talking about Dougie skipping out, get off my jock.

If the coaching staff was coming back, I suspect you would have heard comments similar to what he said about the goaltending, "I have confidence in Gully and the coaching staff. I did not do my job in providing them with the tools they needed to succeed." Or something similar to that.
"He is a good coach" is simply Treliving being diplomatic and trying to not cut gulutzan's legs off for any future jobs.
At least I desperately hope so. . . .

Treliving isn't alone in his approach:
“It’s a very emotional business as we all know,” Hartley said. “Once a season is over you dissect it, you analyze the good parts, the bad parts – and then you work in order to get better.”
BTW, on this approximate date two years ago:
While Treliving can find some positives in the 2015-16 campaign, like the growth of some of the team's younger players, he will be doing a full evaluation of the squad and that includes Flames head coach Bob Hartley. "You don’t have the season we’ve had and not evaluate everything," Treliving said. "In terms of (coaching) changes, that’s something I haven’t contemplated at this point. But from management on down, from the general manager on down, that will all be evaluated starting now."

Regardless of what he thinks or is going to do with the coach, outside of being respectful, he can't let the players think this falls all on the coaches shoulders. He needs them to contemplate how they need to be better, and saying anything other than GG is a good coach, totally lets them off the hook.

One more quote:
“Bob did some very good things here,” Treliving said. “He built a foundation in this organization and apart from all else, he put his heart and soul into this team. He bled for this team and Bob’s a good coach. But this decision that I reached was not based solely on this season.
“Anytime when you go through a situation where a coach is being relieved, there’s blood on a lot of hands. And it starts with myself, responsibility with the players, and it goes through the organization. Make no mistake, there’s responsibility to bear outside of Bob.”

Well, I feel any of the Flames top 7 forwards and top 6 d men can effectively run a PP with greater success than they were coached to this year. In fact we've seen it.
What I suspect will happen is one core player will be traded to upgrade to top six fw group, along with dropping the gullytine on the coaching staffs heads.
Depth is a thing for tre as well, I think he going to go shopping hard this year.

Did Francis actually say this or put this on print? Or did some posters on CP assume he meant Monahan?

At 4:35, the full quote is "I don't think you put Johnny Gaudreau or Sean Monahan in that category of guys that will do whatever it takes to win."

How is a player interview inside info? It's literally an interview....with a player....for fans to watch.

It was season ending exit interviews between Management and players we were talking about. Absolutely closed door off public record etc.

I think GoJetsGo was referring to the exit interviews - i.e. private with Treliving - not the garbage bag day media interviews.
I think nik- was referring to the media interviews.

Yeah, sorry caught up in the thread after posting that. Although Nik's post seemed pretty clear as it was right after the Dougie discussion.

Nik- was complaining a storm about snap decisions not being made and it was brought up several times that the GM had yet to even talk to the players in end of season interviews. He then stopped responding to that and tossed out that player interviews are useless. I thought he was still on the train of feeling upset the coach wasn't fried this morning.
