GG didn't have a great first two periods. But I've also never seen such a fragile team mentally. The second goal went through the chassis of Gios skate (wtf) and that Finn somehow got lucky but the coilers have the flames number mentally. They were so defeated after that and it took a greasy sam Bennett goal to get their minds back. This team is not mentally tough. They let the coiler forwards rough smith up, no one fought. Just pathetic effort and so much quit

I know a lot of people were concerned when GG didn't seem too concerned with the initial losses to Edmonton; But now it's gotten into the players heads and that's unacceptable. Not only that, they are a division rival so those are 4 point games.

I remember Hartley being upset when the Flames came up with a poor effort against the Oilers. These are games that build character and the best players rise to the occasion to win these games at all costs. The Flames have let this slide a little too long and now we see why this should have been addressed at the very beginning.

After all the good work BT has done for the team, if he makes GG the sword he dies on. I'm okay doing a full house cleaning of the upstairs team.

Not true. As I posted in the GT, there are a handful of guys who have been fired from a team above .500 that were underperforming relative to expectations. Same as this group except I just don’t think Treliving will admit defeat on this coaching hire.

I'd like to see Jankowski in Brouwer's spot on the PP. Bigger body and better hands in close.

Those two are unique players in that they are tough and can produce ie not one dimensional. You can't ice goons but what you can do is take advantage of their less than stellar foot speed. You get the lead and force them to play hockey.

You show the hell up in these games and out play a depleted team. You ice a fast, aggressive and relentless team.

It's a total mind job against EDM. CGY is not that bad yet against EDM they flat out suck. Horrible display. The entire org has to figure out why the team plays like #### every time. It's total horse####.

Which players can look in the mirror and say they were ready to play? No fortitude.

I also remember when D Sutter was coaching he said something like the playoff go through Edmonton and there is absolutely no excuse to lose to them.

Here are a few coaches fired midseason in recent years with pretty similar records:

The Penguins were 15-10-3 when they fired Johnston.
The Blues were 24-21-5 when they fired Hitchcock.
The Wild were 23-22-10 when they fired Yeo.
The Leafs were 21-16-3 when they fired Carlyle
The Bruins were 26-23-6 when they fired Julien
The Habs were 31-19-8 when they fired Therrien
The Senators were 11-11-5 when they fired MacLean

Also I get pretty annoyed when people pretend Gulutzan's record isn't being propped up by the fact that he has the most dominant 3v3 team in the NHL, who literally win games in OT where coaches do nothing but send out their six "fastest" players over-and-over. I mean just look at the above list and all the OTLs/SOLs for every above fired coach, whereas Gulutzan has had no issue with too many one point games.

Lucic has a caveman brain it's easy to take him off his game. Rattle his cage get him riled up Lucic will take bad penalties.

Agreed. With all the assets we spent to be a good team, I'm no longer satisfied being a wildcard team.

This team has underperformed. Blame who you want to, but that's not acceptable.

You could see the air come out of their tires when they couldn't score on that 4 min PP. It was if the team had said mentaly "Here we go again!"

I was looking for a good fight after one of those roughing up Smith. Maybe that would have woken the team up sooner.
