I didn’t think Janko played very nervous. To me, he looked very calm and poised with the puck. Great game, looking forward to see him get into a rhythm.

Yeah Jankowski looked great. Good defensively and good down low.

I wish Hamilton didn't require games 1-20 to hit his stride, but he just seems to be that kind of player. This is the 3rd consecutive year where he hasn't looked very good to start the season, but I have no doubt that he will look like a guy who should earn Norris Trophy votes in 6 weeks time, and maintain that for the duration of the season.

Honestly a lot of the games I've watched have been on ####ty feeds, so I may have missed something, but I think Hamilton has been more than acceptable this far. Not sure what the stats say, but to my eyes I've liked his game. I also notice him getting pretty physical, and showing his size quite well.

The thing I was most impressed by from Janko was his stick. Very good at getting it in the passing lanes and poking pucks away to keep the play alive. Good to see.

Kulak looked a lot better than last season (or pre-season). He did get trapped and threw the puck away a few times on a long shift in the third.

He has 6 points in 9 games, and generally is playing solid, positive minutes.
A few around here just like sling crap at him for the joy of it, apparently.

I don't need flashy. I'll take that goal over and over again all season.

I expect that he will play a lot better. He looked tentative to me. I hope they keep him up to give him a few games to get in the groove.

For some, maybe. But I have also been fairly unimpressed by Hamilton through nine games. He has looked fine most nights, and had a standout game against Winnipeg, but there have also been some pretty disappointing moments.
He has not played as well as he can, but I am not at all concerned about it.

Yeah, I haven't seen the laser wristshot he has yet, but IMO he's skated OK and had some physical play (including last night). His worst mopments are when he stops skating and relies solely on his reach. I don't think his giveaways are as dire as Brodie's though. Last few games Brodie has had some stinkers where he goes to pass but it's like a partial fan.

A little more improvement on the defensive aspect of his game would be nice, that's all. We all know that he can put up points, but as a defenseman you are expected to not be a liability in your own end. Hamilton could be a lot better in his own end.

Oh give it a rest.
Points aren't everything and you know it. Do you watch the games? Jesus, all you do is defend the Flames at any turn and think posters are slinging mud at the Flames for no apparent reason. Hamilton has been average to bad defensively all year and without Gio and Smith saving his butt every game it would be a lot more noticeable.
Do you honestly work PR for the Flames? I know the Oilers hired some people so wouldn't put it past the Flames owners as well.

Unnecessary.
Hamilton can be better at defence, but he's not horrid - he's middlin'. And young.

That a shot at me?
I've never slung crap at Hamilton. Hell, even above, I labelled him a Norris quality Dman that is just a perennial slow starter.
He's not passing the eye test for me yet.

Perhaps he actually enjoys watching the team(who is over .500, has been playing pretty well as of late and has been nowhere near their true potential) instead of just continually piling on and nit picking for the sake of it
Its astonishing you can get called out for defending the team after a win on a flames fan message board. Do you expect the entire roster to be filled with mcdavids who never make mistakes and never take time to get things going? Especially in light of their success?
Give it a break

No it's not. Sick of posters accusing others of slinging mud at players for no reason.
We should be able to say Hamilton is struggling without being accused of just slinging mud at him for fun especially after knowing Hamilton is a slow starter.
Like I said in my first post on Hamilton in this thread, he will be fine. He has started the season slow every year in his career and usually picks it up around the 15 game mark. It's ok to say that he has been struggling because he has been.

In looking at the play again, when he gets hacked and stumbles, the ref near him begins to put up his arm, but as soon as he regains his balance and stride, the arm goes back down and he takes his shot. Guess the ref figured "no harm, no foul". Could still maybe have called a slash, but it wasn't a trip.
