Just finished watching the game. Wow.

What a team.

Tkachuk once again embarrassed Doughty. Next captain. What a player.

I'm very happy with the early results. I just can't help but think that moving Bennett to the wing on the top line is the right move. Ferland might not have the chops to be an everyday top 6 guy.

If you move Bennett up with Monny and Johny then Ferland could play on the fourth line with Brouwer. Put Stajan and Glass in the press box and Ferland - Lazar - Brouwer is your new fourth line.

Obviously Jankowski gets recalled and centers Jagr and Versteeg.

Gaudreau is tied for 3rd in the league in points.

Won't end up that high, but I expect him to be around 7-10th and near a PPG. And definitely higher than the overrated Draisaitl.

So true.

He is one of the guys expected to play with some grease and he did just that, at the right moment for the right reasons.

I just dont understand what people want from the guy in that situation.

I have attended a couple of games in LA, and I will give props to their fans. Knowledgeable and crazy about hockey, it was a surprise to me the first time.

Agree with Haynes here. Yeah he took a penalty but this is what people have been asking him to do since he got here.

There was also a play late in the game where he took a few digs at a guy behind the play. Full marks for Brouwer tonight, he was fiesty and engaged and a pain in the butt to play against. I hope we see more of that this year.

How can people be mad at Brouwer for getting himself taken off the ice in that situation? If you can get offsetting penalties, with one of the players being Brouwer, you take it every time.

While I think Tkachuk is great and will likely assume some sort of formal leadership role on this team in the future, right now, I'd say the next captain has to be the guy who scored the game-winner tonight.

Nothing but a huge smile when I saw Brouwer dump the guy. The Flames have been missing that for a while now.

I actually loved that Brouwer did that. This team needs that type of mentality to truly become a tight unit.

We might be a great RW away from being a true contender. Maybe if Winnipeg continues to slide, Ferland + d prospect + ? for Blake Wheeler

A) Winnipeg isn't trading Wheeler for anything less than a legit #1 goalie, let alone Micheal Ferland
B) The Flames don't just have a great RW, we have a legendary RW
C) The Flames are clearly already a contender, judging by their start and the pedigree of their players
