To everyone complaining about line-matching, remember that the Oilers had last change.

Why start the Brouwer line open the 2nd and 3rd period? Why put Brouwer out with the goalie pulled?
I assume the Oilers will just win all 41 games at home this season since they have the last change?

There is no way you can expect Johnny to carry a hockey team. Yes small players can play in today's NHL. That does not mean coaches can't take him out of his comfort zone. He is quite capable of being a complimentary player(setup man) as is Monahan(sniper). The two shouldn't be on the same line. Looking for a RW to solve their problem isn't the solution. They should just break them up.
The Flames brass is right / Bennett better breakout this year. Put him top line with Johnny. Give Monahan Jagr to set him up.
Johnny Bennett Ferland
Versteeg Monahan Jagr

Just perused tonight's shift chart. McLellan did stellar job keeping McDavid away from Backlund. But 3 of final 4 match-ups are at the Dome.
Our best hope is stapling Backlund to McDavid when we control the matchup.

Are there five games this season? I had thought for sure the Oilers and Flames play only four times.

They also opened the game with the Brouwer line.

Hammered in every period.
Had we our playoff calibre netminding from last season, this would have been double digits.

I'll beat it like it owes me money! And to all those who are calling for drastic changes and calling for the heads of certain players, calm down! It's one game. Take a deep breath, go to bed, wake up tomorrow with a different and more rational perspective.

I've seen this posted a few times in various threads today.
Warning PURE SPECULATION AHEAD !
I do start to wonder if T.J Brodies' home life may be taking a toll. Many posters today have pointed out fot the last year he looks lost, diatracted, uninterested etc. His wife was diagnosed with M.S. LAST October. Who knows how long his family had this issue before the actual diagnoses. It may be taking a toll on him.

She was diagnosed 2 years ago actually.
I think there's just a chance Brodie isn't as good as we previously thought as a fan base. Hopefully he clicks with Hamonic and just takes off.

I really don't care how much he makes, Treliving needs to own his mistake and waive Brouwer. If you can't trade him, at least get him off the team. It's just not working out here. Probably best for both parties to move on.
