Valimaki, wotherspoon looking out of place so far.
Thought Kulak looked better in the latter half of the period.
Lack also looks under control. I'm not nervous at every shot against which is strange watching a flames game.

So who's going to be the 6th d-man? I'm guessing Kulak, but nobody is really stepping up in a huge way.

Man I wish Bob Mackenzie was some how on Sportsnet just so we'd see him more during nhl games....
Him and Freidman on a panel would be great to watch for hockey fans.

I thought Wotherspoon made one glaringly bad pass but wasn't completely terrible. I might have missed other mistakes though.

Tough period for some of the D, but some things to like up front...
Foo had a couple good shifts, as did Poirier.
Jankowski is an NHLer. He was good in his first 3 games, but this was going to be a real test due to the Jets NHL-heavy lineup and it being on the road so they can match lines. And Jankowski has absolutely answered the bell.
Lomberg is fun to watch. Not enough talent for the NHL, I don't think, but he is a joy to watch.
Great to see Monahan and Tkachuk jump off the infirmary truck and straight to awesomeness.

Kulak is the only one not treating the puck like a grenade. Thought he looked alright, despite his partner.

Pretty sure Bob is retiring after this year. Last year in Broadcasting.

Still Andersson to lose IMO. He's been just fine tonight too. I have no idea why Kulak is even in the conversation other than seniority rules.

Lack looks pretty steady. Absolutely no chance on the two goals. Does anyone else get the feeling that Gulutzan is auditioning a 1B line with Monagan, Chucky and Foo? Seeing as how Gaudreau and Bennett seemed to work so well together? Sure looks like it to me

I want to see more from Poirier. Specifically that speed he's known for. On his line its Hathaway that's skating hard into the corners to get on the body or to turn the puck over. Hathaway is on the puck.
Poirier did have a good sequence where he took puck from behind the net to the front but I want to see some zip, fire, get on the puck urgency out of him.

Unless things have changed, I think he still has 4 year left. He has talked about retiring when he turns 65, and he just turned 61.

There's no way Lazar lands a job in the NHL this year. I'm not seeing it from him this year.

Bennett definitely could use one of Tkachuk/Gaudreau
I don't think Foo is ready but a line of Tkachuk-Monahan-Versteeg would probably be solid.

Interesting... I still see it as Kulak S's to lose. He's a good skater, passer and seems to have an eye for when to join the rush. That's exactly what the ideal partner for stone would look like I think.
To me, Anderson and stone are too similar in skillset and style to make for a good pairing.

Exactly. I thought he was pretty solid overall. But one terrible giveaway in his own zone was a glaring strike against.
Valimaki, Kulak and Bartkowski also had some glaring errors.
Didn't notice Stone at all (which is good) and I noticed Andersson a couple times in a good way.
I am ready to put Andersson on the left side on the 3rd pair. He is easily the best of this group.
