I have no idea if Matthew Phillips is ever going to make the NHL but man is he ever fun to watch. He's going to thrill fans at every level.

Matthew Phillips is tiny (like I cannot stress this enough), but he's also unbelievable to watch. Gaudreau-esque.

Man, if Johnny is there working with these guys he is going to be rip roaring ready to go right out the gate. This could be a historic year.

He isn't doing anything with the prospects. He's working out with a group on another sheet of ice. Power skating drills. Lazar, Ferland, Smid, Shinkaruk, and Kanzig are players I recognized on the ice.

Kulak was also out there, wearing the number 2. Now, I know it's just his Stockton number, but wouldn't it be awesome if he switched?

Must not be a Flames-sanctioned skate then. Kanzig is with Carolina now.

Not to number 2, That number should be retired. Forever a Flame be dammed no one should wear #2/#9/#14/#25/#30

Johnny grew up a rink rat. It's his natural habitat.

Gaudreau et al have zero to do with the camp, but man that must really add to the "feel" for these young players to see some of the NHL team wearing the same practice jerseys going through the paces.
Can't hurt the college recruitment process for the next Foo as well.

No. I know it's not technically retired, but no one should wear #2 for the Flames again.
Kulak wore #3 in junior and Hamonik was apparently told he couldn't have #3. If Kulak switches, that will probably be it.

Where did you hear that? seems pretty odd to tell an established vet he can't have a number that an unproven rookie might want. I realize your not saying it's being held for Kulak but that's being implied by your comment

It was announced that he'll be wearing #24 next year. When asked about it, he said that he went with the numbers that come before and after 3.
I didn't see the interview (just read the quote on Twitter), so I don't know the full context of the question, but it sounded like he was told he couldn't have 3.
