If you're a hockey fan, you'd want to see the world's best player as much as possible regardless of who they play for. Sucks that he plays for rival, but McDavid is a historic player. Be thankful you're alive to witness greatness, this is like witnessing Gretzky/Orr/Lemieux back in their day.

Seriously.
Gross
Puke worthy post.
When I want to watch the best player in the world, I'll turn on a Pittsburgh game.
If I want to watch an Olympic diving competition, I'll watch McDavid.

Bull crap. There will ALWAYS be players as good as McDebutante playing in the NHL—there always has been. In just my lifetime I have watched Lafleur, Gretzky, Lemieux, Sakic, Forsberg, Jagr, Bure, Ovechkin, Datsyuk and Crosby. Why should I care about "being alive" to see him play?

Looks like the Ducks have all their defensemen back for the series:

Maybe I'm just being a Oilers hater but
They beat the worst playoff team down the stretch (and got some breaks to do it) and two of SJ best players were at maybe 60%
They lost a game 7-0 for Christ sake
If they don't raise their game big time I just don't see it against the Ducks

I find that the Edmonton media seems to think that the Oilers have a huge advantage in goal with Cam Talbot over John Gibson. They're talking about how Talbot will steal the series and put up such better numbers in the first round if you take away his game 4 his numbers are so much better than Gibson. Yet if you take Gibson's game 3 numbers away...what do his stats look like?
Talbot has had a good season and is a big reason why the Oilers are in round two. But John Gibson isn't some plug who's below average at the position.
The one thing that I'll have a passing interest in is how the Oilers respond to the Ducks mantra of creating animosity. The Ducks like to cause stuff, and the Flames certainly got dragged into it. The Sharks don't play anything like this. So it will be interesting to see how the tenderness enjoys getting nuggies from a cranky fart like Getzlaf and how much McDavid enjoys the smell of Keslers glove.

Hopefully getting their defence healthy makes a difference on the series! They did fine without them against us, because we didn't do a great job forcing the issue, but it might be a big boost this time around.
What scares me is that whoever comes out of this round seems likely to beat Blues/Nashville fairly easily. Here's to hoping they really beat each other up all series!

I don't think you can say Couture was 60%. That is a reach. Don't really know how Thornton played with that injury.
The last Ducks loss was against the Oilers. They have played them well and won the season series.
What breaks did they get in beating the Sharks?

Its not just Edmonton media giving them the edge in goal. Almost everyone is. But its pretty close, Gibson is very good goalie.
There are lots of little stories leading into this series.
The last 2 games against Anaheim McDavid had his way with the Kesler line, so much so that Carlyle started to use the Getzlaf line midway through the second game.
RNH was able to effectively shut down the Pavelski/Burns combo. Can he do it to the Getzlaf line?
