I've been saying it for weeks. This team is just horrible offensively at EV. It's on the coach IMO. This team use to have no issues scoring under Hartley.

Previous years, I'd expect Edmonton to get lazy and let Flames right back into the game. We'll see if they're really different now.

This is what happens when you lack high end depth.

If you have two good players on two lines and an AHLer as the third guy, you make it really easy for the defense of the opposition. Key in on the two guys that are good and ignore the bad player.

It would almost be better to overload a line by moving Bennett or Gaudreau over to RW and have those two + Monahan on the same line instead of spreading the players out.

The Flames desperately need two top 9 forwards.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to get them during the season because the cost is too high.

Frankly blaming the coaches for everything is entirely stupid. At some point the players have to take a hard look in the mirror and look at the fact that over the last week or so with a exception or two, they're playing lazy hockey.

So the fact that Gaudreau, Monahan, Bennett, Brodie, Giordano have all taken a big step back under Gulutzen is just a coincidence? Or did they get together and agree to start ignoring coaches and not try hard just to spite Gulutzen?
