Bennett played stupidly last game. After the benchings. Not before.
Last time when he got benched, it was on a bad call by the officials. You have to back your players up in those situations.
|
Right lets say if Hartley, or a another coach has Bennett's back, he is going to play for the coach. Benching a player in front of other rookies/team just makes him feel defeated. It puts him off his game and likely affects his confidence.

I can't wait to hear how the idiots on the Fan 960 spin this in the Flames favour after the game. I wonder if they will still be learning a new system 40 games in?

Too bad Bryon couldn't score and finish breakaways when he was on this team. Well now that he's with the Freaking Habs he can.
That sucks.

He struggled his last year here, but was money the seasons prior for the Flames.
Flames fans trashing him constantly because he was unable to score, yet still generated chances non-stop in largely a 4th line role is still hilarious to me.
Thank god we dumped Byron in order to keep Brandon ####ING Bollig.

One was an accidental high stick. Fighting for the puck. I forget the other one. Bennett's were hooking and holding penalties. That's lazy.
Bennett just hasn't been playing well. As usual, he's getting excused because he's not a CPWB.

Not good enough for the NHL.
But Tre goes and gets him to play on the top line.

BT gets him but he seems to be glue gun's boy who insists on playing him on first line.

Chiasson is a long time favourite of GG. He will be given every opportunity to succeed.

At least one of those was accidental, but I was barely watching, so I my have misremembered.
At any rate, Bennett's penalties were happening game after game and the poor PK was not killing them. And not only that, he was blowing his defensive responsibilities and it was leading to goals against. So he was costing the team a lot of goals against directly, or indirectly. He wasn't making the adjustment, so the coach adjusts his ice time accordingly.

Why not give Jankowski, Klimchuk, and Poirer a chance at this point?

Yes, the Heat are up 1-0! I want everyone to read at least one positive entry on this thread today.

Poor Scott Oake is going to have a tough time finding positive questions to ask Glue Gun on After Hours.

Gulutzan is playing him on the top line not Treliving but the fact he traded for him is another terrible move by our over rated GM.

He could take, or give hits to guys twice his size and probably had a lot to do with inspiring a number of comebacks.

If the Flames finish with less than 64 points they probably are dead last and have the best odds for the lottery. Assuming a loss tonight they would have to go on one heck of a hot streak by this teams standards to get above 64 points in their last 66 games.
4th line has looked real good tonight though, best line on the team.
