Bouma was good on the forecheck but need a little more puck control and net presence from him. Backlund and Frolik are playing so well and generating chances that I think Bouma should be contributing a little more. I'm in no way upset with Bouma but he seems to be pulling that line down a bit.

Hopefully it'll give them some good mojo going forward.

This was what I posted on the first page...only I thought it was last year and Ramo in net haha.

The forward I would pull out of the line-up for Tkachuk is Chiasson. He was not good last night and reminds me of David Moss without the hands in front of the net. A replaceable player.

Really? He may not have had any decent scoring chances last night but I thought he was able to keep up with the other two a lot better than Ferland has been able to. He also provided muscle and forecheck that Versteeg wasn't able to do. I liked him there and would like to give him a couple more games to see if he can develop the scoring chemistry with them before writing him off.

Disagree 100%
He was strong on the forecheck and was creating lots of space on that top line. Has decent speed and had a beautiful set up to Monny. No way he should be sitting

Chiasson was creating all night. Funny how people can all have different views of watching the same game

True. For me he gave the pick away too many times in the opposing zone when he didn't have an outlet. Dumping the puck in the corner would be a better move than passing it right to the hawks and giving them a quick transition back up the ice.

I am not a big fan of Bouma, but he has really been fairly good and consistent thus far in the season. I am not sure if he is leading the Flames in hits (I don't always check to see how many hits players had in a game), but it seems to me that Bouma has been dishing out some big hits this season. I haven't noticed any real glaring mistakes either. In my opinion, he has been good, and there is no way he should be taking a seat.
Bouma and Ferland have been the only two consistent to semi-consistent physical presences among the forward group. I don't think either one should be sat at the moment.

It's too bad he did that, Forsling was a giveaway machine when he was playing.
Bouma seems to be the weak link based on the 1 game, but it was just 1 game. Nobody should be completely safe from a benching yet though.

How does one have less hands than David Moss? That was David Moss' problem, no finish. Otherwise he often did a lot of the right things and created a lot of opportunities.

As others have noted, Dougie used his size to be more physical last night which was very welcome and no doubt encouraged by the team. I thought however that the coaching staff used him less often than usual - but i admit to not checking his TOI. In particular, i don't recall him ever getting ice in OT. Mind you that was a shooting gallery for the Hawks.
hope to see more of that from him tonight.

Moss had ok hands when standing in front of the net only. Outside that he was Mr. Stone Hands.

Am I taking crazy pills or something? How did Johnny not get an assist on the second goal.. somehow they gave it to Brouwer? I thought it went Gaudreau with the no look to Giordano and rebound banged in my Monahan.. did I miss something?

I think it may have hit Brouwer in front after the initial shot.
