After rising for 7 straight games, the red snake was tired, and took a one game break. It remains 2 points below the green snake and 2 points above the purple snake. With a win tonight, the red snake would tie the green snake after 33 games. It would take five straight wins to get above the black line.
There won't be a post game snake until at least tomorrow due to Christmas parties tonight.

My Gawd that start was horrendous. Even after going on a huge tear, the snake is still below the line.

A 4-5 game winning streak would really do wonders for the snake. Would be well above the successful 14-15 snake at this point in the season.

Before the November 30th game against the Leafs the Flames had 14 games left until the end of 2016. They are 8 games into it, and have gone 6-2. I stated that in order to be above the black line on January 1st, the red snake would need 24 points in 14 games, or a 12-2-0 record, which I thought was unreasonable. Although Calgary got the nice 6-0-0 start, they'd need another one of those in the last six games of the year. That's not impossible, but still likely improbable. Here are their opponents:
at Arizona (11-15-5)
at San Jose (19-12-1) 2nd game of back to back for CGY
vs. Vancouver (13-16-3) Vancouver's 2nd game of a back to back
at Colorado (11-18-1)
vs. Anaheim (16-11-5)
vs. Arizona (11-15-5)
I also noted if they got 18 points in the 14 games (9-5-0), they'd be on pace to end the season with 96 points. If the red snake goes 3-3-0 in these six games, they are right where they'd need to be. I think they have an excellent shot to go at least 4-2-0, and I think 5-1-0 is in play.
The red snake remains 2 points below the green snake, on the last game of the green snake's 7 straight losses in OT streak. It also remains 2 points above the purple snake, which is about to win two straight games. The red snake is 4.634 points below the black line, the furthest its been since after game #28. It would take 6 straight wins to be above the black line.

Still keeping between the lines.
I expect a win and a loss over the next two games. The red somehow keeping in-between despite the bottle neck coming up.
Some very winnable games after that, so followed by a nice streak - which should again keep red between the lines.

With the 4-2 win against Arizona, the red snake is now tied with the green snake for the first time since they both lost game #1 of the season. After game #25 it was 10 points below. That's quite the closing speed to make up the gap in 9 games. With a win on Tuesday against San Jose, it would move above the green snake. An OTL/SOL would allow the red snake to keep pace with the green snake, and would also keep the red snake above the purple snake.
The red snake moves to within 3.805 points of the black line. It would take five more straight wins to be above it. The red snake is 7-2-0 in its last 9 games, starting with the November 30th game against Toronto.

The similarities to last season are eerie. Gotta try and break from 15-16's pattern in the next few games. Hopefully overtake that green snake.

We have 90 more minor penalties than the Sharks do (they only have two games in hand).
