Robert on overtime now. This team needs to get it together 'cause he's the most frustrating part of any Flames loss... or win for that matter.

And Brodie has been awful these last two games I just don't get it. Did they not get enough pre season time?
He was bad in the pre season as well and was very poor on the PK.

He may be annoying but I always tend to agree with every thing he says. He's a very knowledgable hockey fan.

I thought we wanted to play with more structure and less of this Gully?
Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Brouwer on start: "(Gully) wants to open up our systems a little bit from last year, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to play run-and-gun."

I was at the game, what a frustrating game to watch. When we made a mistake, the Oilers capitalized on it right away. When they did, we couldn't connect the dots.
As an aside, I was a few rows behind the players benches and... mother of god, Milan Lucic is a large human. He's built like a goddamned refrigerator.

I think I need a break from hockey. This is supposed to be fun, my bloods still boiling hours after this game finished.
I haven't missed a game in 15 years but I will not watch tomorrow's game and will check CP after the game to see if the effort was there, if not I'm done for a while.

I'd feel a lot better about things if GG ran with Kulak and Jokipakka and let Wideman sit and mull over his defensive game.
If we're going to try out a more "offensive" focused system then the least we could do is limit the number of defensive liabilities we ice each game.
Actually glad we started with 8 D to facilitate that move.

I'm sorry but I think if we won the past two games it'd be more luck than anything. The whole first period we outplayed the oilers, 2nd was a non factor and third we had to regain momentum whereas the oilers had it. Breakaways should never happen and that's on the players thinking too much. Switching systems takes a bit, why do you think I said the reason the oilers have been so bad was because they switched coaches annually, this is probably the first time they've had a consistent coach back-to-back years. Of course having a whole entire new coaching staff and systems wasn't going to fix everything in game 1. I'm sorry but we all knew there'd be growing pains, and if we are saying no it should just click and we should be the best team were kidding ourselves.
Although there's no excuse to lose to the Nucks... Oilers at least have *barf* mcdavid....

Team looks like last year - bad d, bad goaltending, and useless PK and PP.
Last time I checked, the Canucks sucked, so why was their assistant coach a good idea for a head coach again?

Exactly. We have enough talent to score, how about the Flames focus on playing sound defense! Hopefully they don't take half a season trying to figure things out!

I turned the game off after Edmonton scored their fourth goal ... I turned it back on a couple of minutes later ... I cant stand losing to Edmonton but it boils down to mental strength ... I am ashamed for that moment of weakness ... life is full of things you don't want to do but you do those things anyway .... watching the Flames lose to Edmonton is a good way to build and strengthen your character ... its makes you a better person .....

Yeah, I think I'm already taking a break tomorrow as well. I gave them a pass for Wednesday's game since they usually don't show up for the season opener. To do it again in the second and third was just inexcusable and absolutely embarrassing as a fan.

Your 23 getting paid millions. Fess up when you are playing terrible..
When I was 23. I was a few years removed from recieving my degree in culinary from SAIT working split shifts from 8 to 2 then back at 5 to 12. With a alcohol problem and some times drugs .
I still made it to work and preformed very well.
I made sous chef the very next year for my hard work with all these problems working against me and didn't make such childish excuses.
Stop making stupid ####ing excuses and show why you are worth almost 7 million dollars kid. Jesus h christ that lame excuse stinks as much as the oilers.

I had the game pvr'd and ended up fast forwarding long stretches of the 2nd and 3rd. Not entertaining.

Tkachuk looks decent, but his skating really needs to get better.
Monahan also needs to improve his skating. They are both noticeably slow.
