It was a back-handed bank pass off the boards that was laid into position for a perfect one timer. It was a beautiful play on the 2nd biggest goal of the tournament.

Nowhere did I say it was the nicest one. I didn't catalogue them.

Really bizarre thing to be whining about on your part.

You call that a whine?

I was just saying that there was nothing special about that pass. I can do that pass on a regular basis.

you are celebrating a simple back pass to the point. I just don't get wtf is so special about it.

I thought it was a great play. It was a no look pass, dropped and banked off the boards into a position where Burns could one-time it.

It was a high skill play that showcased his top level vision. Especially with him not looking and putting the perfect angle on it.

However... I didn't realize someone on here might make passes like that all the time, so I can see how it might seem less impressive to you what with your world class skills and all.

Ok well we can agree to disagree, but you don't have to be a dickwad about it.

Sorry, it's not often I get to talk to someone with world class passing / playmaking skills on the interwebs.

It wasn't a no-look so much as a set play. Datsyuk used to make that play often with the Red Wings.

He didn't look back. Regardless, still very high skill level to judge the angle and velocity to leave it sitting pretty like that.

It was a great play, especially given the context and timing.

I agree it wasn't anything special but do you notice how it's always the great players making those "nothing special" passes that end up in the net?

All I'm saying is to be a good passer you have to be almost perfect. If anyone other than Crosby makes that pass it might have been a few inches off and not in a one time position. The way he passed it Burns could walk into it and get some sauce behind it. Someone else makes that pass and while it looks nice it doesn't end up in the back of the net because Burns would have to stop it.

Gaudreau made similar passes in his first year to Wideman a lot and he capitalized on a few. So no maybe nothing spectacular about the pass but only a handful of NHLers consistently can make that pass.
