They picked crappy targets, and were both terrible managers. That doesn't mean that the Flames should never sign a UFA again.

I don't think they shouldn't sign any big-moderate UFAs this year. Wait for the Widemans, Smids, Bolligs & Raymonds to expire.

Disappointed Billy Arnold got axed. Had hopes for him developing into a good 4th line center. He picked a poor time to have a bad season. Have to feel for Agostino. Played well all year and still got cut loose. Interesting to see what they do for to fill out the minor league team.

With all these cuts, next year he'll be even more ruthless.
Raymond
Possibly Ferland
Possibly Chiasson
Wideman
Smid
Engelland
Morrisson
Possibly Kulak
Possibly Culkin
Possibly Hathaway
The likes Kulak, Culkin, Ferland, Chiasson better take a big step and show they belong or else next year they'll be in this unqualified group. Really sends a message.

Haha. So you're happy he got resigned (not qualified) by this club then.

As much as I hope you're right, I have some serious doubts regarding Poirier. He hasn't impressed me at all during his couple of stints in the show. He's still young though and has some time.

Easy there, I didn't say the Flames should never sign another UFA again. I said big game hunting doesn't work.

There is a huge difference between not having the cap space, and deciding a player might not be a good value signing. Flames can sign Colborne if they want, he's not going to break their cap, they are deciding what he's worth and if he's worth the cap space he may end up occupying.
