Pens aren't going to go far if their goalie keeps getting run like that. Murray gets clobbered behind his own net and nobody did a thing.

You gotta be tougher than that in the playoffs. Some things are worth an instigator, even in a playoff game, and that was one of them!

Sustr's goal was from a nice Kucherov pass, 2-0 Tampa Bay heading into the second period. The Lightning out shot the Penguins 16-12.

Im really surprised neither TSN nor Sportsnet could/would set aside one branch of network for this game.

Another pair of goals for the Lightning (Drouin and Johnson) and it is 4-0 Tampa Bay after forty minutes and Hedman has three assists so far. The shots were 14-10 in favour of Tampa Bay in the second period and is 30-22 overall for the Lightning. That is an improvement for Tampa as they were averaging just 23 shots per game in this series.

Cool, our starting goalie for 2016/2017 is in net for the 3rd period.

This results amuses me because Renaud Lavoie was on the Fan today claiming the Pens are simply unbeatable... despite the Lightning winning game 1.

Yeah someone was on the Fan today saying the Lightning were lucky to have won a game this series. I thought that was a bit of a biased view of things as the series could easily have been 2-1 TB

How many days has it been since Fleury last played? I don't think they've mentioned it yet.

Nice goal by Kessel just 78 seconds into the third period, but, Tampa Bay has held on very well to the 4-1 lead midway through the third period.

It appears that March 31 was his last game when the Penguins won 5-2 over the Predators. http://sportsstats.cbc.ca/hockey/nhl...core70667.html

Malkin scores, 4-2 now. This is interesting and the Penguins now have a power play opportunity!

We Have A Game. Kunitz makes it 4-3 on the PP with 6:52 left

That was a power play goal and Killorn must feel terrible skating from the sin bin.

Vasilevskiy sealed the game with some great saves. His first credited win of the post-season.

Props to the Penguins for making a game of it but the Lightning were on their game tonight.

Lightning getting some recognition as a finalist for North American top sports business. Bettman takes a lot of heat for expansion and the misses like Arizona, Florida, Atlanta but there have been successes like the Sharks, Lightning, and Predators as they have solid followings.

Question now becomes, who starts in goal for the Pens next game?

I think they have to go back to Murray, putting in a possible rusty/cold Fleury at this point is risky.

The bigger question is the seriousness of Daley's injury.
Don't think they can beat Lightning without his minutes.
The third period last night does not alter my position.
If Cole and Shultz are expected to thrive with the extra minutes....the Pens will be disappointed.
