really? where did you find out this?
Boston was right at the salary cap They dumped both Hamilton and Lucic saving almost 10M in cap.
They would have to drop a couple of players to make room for Hamilton's cap hit.
I could believe that they would like mulligan in who they drafted and would have taken Barzel and Connor when they had the chance

Edwards was so disgusted with the Flames he moved to London.

I wonder if this is the most lopsided CP poll ever. If you ran a poll for "What is your favorite hockey team?", I'm not even sure if it would get almost 96% for the Flames.

I can't believe there are 19 who voted yes.
I see Ruttiger doing his best at a poll jihad.
604flames, Armchair Quarterback, burnitdown, Clever_Iggy, domenichelly, flamesfan55, flamesfever, Frank MetaMusil, IntenseFan, jlh2640, pylon, Ruttiger, Shawn_Cronin44, Stay Golden, Swayze11, TheOnlyBilko, tripin_billie, Winsor_Pilates, Zarley

Why isnt this thread closed. Treliving is a very under rated GM and finally getting recognized at the worlds. So glad Burke chose him.

Pretty sure several people have said they voted yes by accident, evidently not thinking the poll could possibly be asking what it's asking.

I think it's still the "Who's the best to wear #2 for the Flames"? MacInnis had 98.88% of the vote.

Treliving not only dropped the ball on the goaltending, but he also saturated the roster and forced good players to be waived (ie Byron) when others who were under contract were not (ie Raymond).
That said, his record has been relatively immaculate. I say we wait until the JG, Mony, and Colborne signings to get out the pitch forks

For the millionth time, Raymond was waived – twice. He was not claimed. No GM who ever lived can force another team to make a waiver claim.

What does that have to do with a saturated roster?

Sorry KC, no dice on this.
As from the other thread, I think the Flames were in on Talbot, but then rushed to sign Ramo when they were going to be out.
Size up front, yes. Sure. But the previous GM placated the masses when he replaced Sutter by saying the team was going to get more skilled. Instead they just got smaller..so it takes time to unwind that in the cap era.
Also, for the blame the goalies were assigned, you can argue that they saved the team last year to get into the playoffs. That big save that those guys made to keep the game at 3-1 early in the second happened a lot more then people think, and allowed the Flames to win that game 4-3. It just all clicked last year in all phases.
Hoping for one or two skilled forwards to emerge or acquired, then a nasty defenseman. Hartley preached discipline but really, the team got pushed around, and last year with an ineffective pp, didn't matter that the other team was in the box. Hopefully this new coach and existing GM get and play players with an edge.
Will never forget Ference jumping Stempniak at home, with no push back, ever, from the "disciplined" Flames, told, directly or indirectly, not to exact revenge or else.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Raymond kept on the roster at the start of the year while Byron was waived? Or were both on waivers at the same time?

General managers are responsible for the number of contracts and types of contracts going into a camp. Treviling already said he's accepted some responsibility, so why are you defending his part in the issues?

I actually voted No. The Hamilton trade buys him another year. But if doesn't improve the Goalie position, RW, LW depth he should be. If the Flames finish this year in the bottom 10 then Treliving should be fired.
