Right, now that Tampa have gone through, I'm fully rooting for you Panthers. I want an all Florida play off series, would be pretty sweet.

In all seriousness, would Florida fan even care more than they do now? It's not like there's a BOA type history between those two teams. Tampa seems to have a dedicated fan base, but the Panthers?

There may not be decades of rivalry, but I bet there is some animosity and rivalry between the 2 fan bases. Maybe a series against the Bolts would get the locals in Miami/Fort Lauderdale interested?

I think the Panthers would also probably match up better against Tampa than the Islanders would... though I think the Bolts are better than either of them.

Meh, Tampa didn't impress me against Detroit. Perfectly beatable by either team I'd say. (Not say it will happen, just saying that it wouldn't surprise me.)

Detroit was arguably the worst team in the playoffs, just purely looking at goal differential. -13 on the season, and the next worst team was Philly at -4...and they're getting schooled by the Caps despite being one of the hottest teams down the stretch.
Even the Wild, who look really outmatched in their series, still had a +10 compared to Detroit's -13, yet only 87 points to the Red Wings 93 points. That's what the Central will do to a solid team, compared to playing in the Atlantic.
Tampa has been good so far, but probably had the easiest opponent of anyone. Could set up some false confidence heading into the next round.

Not happy with the result but the Panthers did control most of the play in that period.
Nice touch by the Panthers organization. They always do a segment where they honor someone who served in the military and tonight they were honoring the family of a guy in active duty overseas. The TV timeout segment comes and as it ends with everyone standing and applauding, the kid comes out and surprises his mom. She's bawling, and the entire crowd is like "damn onions". Pretty touching moment.

This announcer has no idea Tavares got a slashing penalty, it had nothing to do with the fall.

Crazy amount of chances that period and nothing to show for it. I wonder if they'll start to doubt themselves a little here. I really hope they don't.

See, there you have another rule issue. Goals like that are always going to stand because there was no reason to initially rule out the goal when it was scored. So the odds are stacked against you to get that one called back.
