Will this be the first Star Wars film without an opening space crawl?

I feel even the standalone films really should have the crawl..

I'm not sure why it wouldn't have the crawl.

There's a backstory/refresher to explain to the audience.

International trailer is out.

It is almost the same except it reveals a major SPOILER (at least it was for me, maybe a lot of people already knew). Watch at your own peril. Couple of new clips too it looks like.

That's really tough because if I mention anything specific you'll guess it pretty easy.

They explain the main character's motivation for taking the mission. Or why the rebels choose her. Why she's important.

Aw man, TFA did such a good job of not spoiling the movie in an era where you can watch some trailers and not bother with the movie. It's too soon to have to start avoiding everything to do with the movie

I can't imagine this specific plot point will stay hidden. I'm not even sure if it is a spoiler. Maybe it was made public from the beginning and I just didn't know.

That spoiler was pretty much given away on IMDB a while ago, so I don't know if its a true spoiler in the trailer anymore

That spoiler was confirmed during the Celebration Panel, and had leaked a long time ago.

PS: That planet where the X-wings are weaving between the rock pillars in the mist, that looks a lot like that planet from Rebels where Hera did the test flight of the B-wing from.
