After the reviews I went in with low low expectations and I actually really enjoyed it. Weak characters, including the titular antagonist, really held it back. Way too much reliance on cgi scenes as well, might be a bit silly for a superhero movie to say that but how many quickly shooting through cgi tunnels and rubble did we need.
Not great, but not bad at all.

Thats. Yup. Thats pretty much the review for that movie. Good, watchable, but nothing special.

I'm watching Days of Future Past (it almost gets better each time), and I have to laugh. Does Cerebro break in every movie?

Cerebro breaks and Professor X somehow becomes incapacitated every single movie. Which I suppose makes sense as you have to take out one of the most powerful Mutants and his machine to have any chance at success

Pretty much this. OP characters usually get nerfed or beaten in a bull#### way.

I didn't mind it at all. There were definately soft spots and they could have done the Weapon X scene a bit better. I was wondering, there must have been some contract/legal wrangling for that cameo as he didn't have any lines.
Storm came around way to easy and Magneto went way to evil, how many people would have died while he was playing destroyer of cities?

It's a long standing tradition in X-Men to somehow sideline or shelf Xavier through elaborate means and methods.

Even Magneto's helmet is like a continuous version of this.
"Well how can the mind-control guy not stop every bad thing the bad guy does?"
"Give him a helmet that inexplicably blocks his power!"
'Brilliant!"

You'll note, his house once again gets destroyed.
His home insurance premiums must be INSANE. His State Farm guy is most certainly avoiding his calls and is definitely 'Not There.'

Mmmm I could be wrong. But I think that Apocalypse is the only time the house is destroyed.
