Stop playing Gio and Hamilton together. It's not working and I don't think it's a long term solution. Put Gio and Brodie back together asap but I wouldn't be apposed to seeing Brodie and Hamilton together to see if they have chemistry.

Either way, just shake things up. Things are not working right now so try something different.

I think some of you are over analyzing this. We suck cause every player besides Gaudreau has been terrible. Bad decisions and poor execution is all it is. Simply not playing hockey well at all. Hopefully they get it together. 2 points in 4 games does happen to good teams too.

I think Ferland needs to start earning that one way contract. He's playing like the plug that got one goal last season not the warrior we saw in the playoffs.

The term 'plug' is underutilized in my opinion. Kudos.

But seriously, yes - over analyzed due to timing. The Flames may not sneak up on people the way they did last year, but seriously - it's 4 games. Too early to be frothing at the mouth with panic or excitement, either way. Breathe. This coming from someone whose team has historically given him every reason to panic after a 4 game winless streak to start the season.

Have you been watching Frolik? Because he's been far from terrible.

I agree about Ferland though, he seems to only show up against Vancouver. If I didn't know better I wouldn't believe he had 50 hits in a span of 6 games at one point

Yeah Frolik has been decent and Bennett didn't make me hate him yet either.

In order of acceptable or better play I'd say Gaudreau, Frolik, Stajan (within his role), Bennett and Jones (within his role as well). Ferland has had moments (but then, so did Raymond in a game and a bit). You could argue that Bollig has been better than last year (although that might still not be good enough).

I'd say Monahan has been just OK, ditto Wideman. The rest well below par.

Has Bollig touched the puck, besides harmless shots from the blueline before he changes? Even his hit totals are well below what they've been for the last few years.

He has been meaningless out there.

I've thought he defended and exited the zone a bit better than last year. I've like his skating better. But like I said, it wasn't exactly a high bar.

Outside of Gaudeau, Frolik and maybe Jones, I think Ferland's been the best forward (though that's not saying a lot). Singling him out seems strange to me when so many others have been much worse.

I disagree, I think he's been pretty bad. Made some poor choices and has zero offense while not doing anything that made him successful in the playoffs last year.

While I agree with what you just wrote, I still think he's still been one of our better forwards. My point was his poor play is not worth singling out ahead of everyone not named Gaudreau, Frolik and Jones. They've all been meek and tentative while they wait for their goalie to get blown up again.

Ahh okay that's fair. I guess I'm singling him out cause I was skeptical of the 1-way.

The difference between being 2-3 and 1-4 feels immense right now. The difference between the Flames being 2-3 while the Oilers are 0-5 and both teams being 1-4 feels even more immense. This flaming clown show needs to stop now. Flames need a beautiful all around effort the next two games at least. 3-4 feels like things are turning around; 1-6 feels like a free-fall.

Well, to be fair, I did say the exact same thing, Harvey Dent picture and all.. when the Flames hit their late season skid (after the loss to MIN, where our playoff chances dropped from 70% to 46% in one night)

Turned out OK.

We are almost at the bottom of the league, but we could have very well earned a point (or 2) in Winnipeg, and got a point against St. Louis. These two games the team played decent, but the goalies let the team down. It is still early in the seasons let's cheers for our team rather team throwing the rocks at them. We are still much better than the team north of us. Stay cool, please
