Nordique fans are welcome. Not a francophone thing.

If you need to make rules to stop foreign fans from taking up too many seats in your rink and have it impact atmosphere, then you are loser market. Stuff like that shouldn't need to be forced, it's not like we needed to stop selling to BC fans to ensure a almost primarily Flames vibe in the Dome in round 1.

I guess the only ones they hurt is themselves. Dropped demand for their own product means lower revenues for them, so a horrible business decision as well. Wonder if the are any laws of free market trade being broken there, probably not I guess.

The area code thing would not really work anyway. There is a lot of émigrés from Quebec in La Floride!

Thought the original presser stated it was to keep out of market scalpers from block buying tickets? In any case, there are tons of Scabs fans everywhere, I mean the arenas half full of them when they play here even and watching any game on TV you notice them in the crowd a lot more than any other fan out of market.

Didn't Ottawa do this a few years ago with Leafs fans? No Leafs fans in their arena because they were tired of them overrunning the place. Same thing applies here in would imagine.

That said... Come on Tampa... finish them.

If you're looking for bigotry, look in a mirror.

They did this against Detroit too.

Yes, I can see how an idiot would equate discrimination against gays to discrimination against hockey fans.

In Canada at least (and slowly coming to the US), one is a protected class. The other is not.

Apparently the Lightning don't allow you to wear their opponents' jerseys in their VIP boxes.

You are asked to remove it before you enter it and are given a neutral colour shirt.

I wouldn't be opposed if they banned Canucks jerseys in the Dome

Why does the anthem singer in Montreal always wear her scarf and winter coat when she's singing? It looks so uncomfortable. And also like she just walked in on off the street, sings the song, and then walks out again.

"Madame, can we take your coat?"

"No thanks, I won't be long."

The Habs scored in the first period and it is still 1-0 early in the second period.

This is where I don't understand NHL refffing; You've got Steve Kozari (ref) standing there watching a Bolts player and super pest Gallager screwing around in front of the net.

Gallager twice shoves his stick up into the Bolts players crotch, while the ref clearly watches it happen on the slow mo replay. Finally the Bolts player gives him a little shove to the face and Gallager throws his head back, which the ref also clearly sees.

Then the ref points at the Bolts player and goes "just one, you're gone!". TO me that's not a ref falling for a pests BS, it's a ref deciding to reward the pest for his BS behavior. Why does the league allow this?

Yeah, Ticketmaster has done the same in various markets with NFL tickets for playoffs , keeping the sales relatively local or, at least, preventing the larger national ticket brokers in other states, from taking over the market.

That's said, in 2004, I picked 4 tickets up for Game 7 of the SCF, 30 minutes after TB beat Philly in the ECF, so times have certainly changed.

What a play by Stralman there to get that on net. Should be a good finish.
