62.7% in the faceoffs on 59 draws. Good for 3rd in the league % wise (2nd highest face off count for the Flames, 29th for face offs taken in the league).

So much ignorance. So much desperation. So much false hope.

When did Bennett get 93?

It's becoming more and more apparent, how lackadaisical that core was. Everyone seems to have a NTC, everyone was making huge bucks, and nobody had anything to lose. We are in the playoffs, and guys are still playing for roster spots on the big stage, and it shows.

I've actually always liked Stajan, but we were stuck. He was part of the Phaneuf trade and then the team made an Oilers mistake and basically was counting on Stajan to be the #1 or #2 centre.
We were asking someone to do something that was outside of their abilities.
Now though hes in the perfect situation rotating up and down from 2/3/4 centre despite his wages and hes in his comfort zone and playing really, really solid hockey,

Looks like the Vancouver media are the first to dump oil in the pressure cooker for Sven.

How can Burke giving Sven #27 after his thing about low numbers be viewed as a bad thing? That was probably the single biggest vote of confidence Sven received from the Flames since Feaster left.
Burke basically said this guy deserves an NHL number, then the guy didn't go out and earn an NHL Job
(I do think he earned an NHL job in training camp this year, and it's just too bad that in most professions you don't need to live up to the standard of the guy you are trying to replace, you need to exceed it, but that's life).

I would applaud that. They would be a Canuck and ergo deserving of urine in their skates. Go Rog Go!

I don't have any ill will towards Sven, I was super high on him as a prospect when we first drafted him. He just plateaued and was surpassed by many other prospects. He still has a chance to be a decent NHL regular, but he's got some work to do.
It is quite surprising to see or read some of the expectations put him on for tonight's game. I just don't see it. If he plays well I'll have no problem giving him some kudos, but I think some Canuck fans should take it easy with how much of an impact they think he'll have. He hasn't done well under pressure before, will be interesting to see how he responds tonight.

Looking forward to tonight's game so we can put the Canucks out of their misery, and the Canucks fans into more misery. After reading newspaper articles (this one in the National Post as an example) and seeing what's posted on Vancouver fan message boards I honestly can't believe how negative they are.
Personally, I was way more anxious and nervous watching the Flames in the season than I am watching the playoffs. I'm just pumped that they're in the playoffs and it's seriously fun just to watch the games. It seems like the team is playing pretty loose too which makes them even more dangerous.
Go Flames Go!
