Why are pundits saying the Oilers just need a goalie and a d-man or two to build a contender? Even with all those high draft picks up front, they were 26th in goals for this season.
That's the way it is with the Oilers, they're instant media darlings. It takes 9 seasons for the media to turn on them, but even during a 4 game winning streak earlier in the season we already started to see them frame stories about that finally being their coming out party.
It'll be a Oilers love fest all summer because of this. If they start the season on a winning stream, the young turks will have arrived!

An online petition for 1 million signatures that would forgive him and celebrate if he pulled a Lindros?
I hope no player ever pulls another Lindros. I'm glad he and his family never got a taste of victory from Lord Stanley's cup. I think Connor McDavid's dad brought him up well and he'll do whatever is necessary to win the cup with the team that he'll be on.
I think this will be great for Alberta and hopefully it'll revive the rivalry again between the Flames and Oilers.
I don't mind this. I'd rather be Edmonton be a viable opponent and see them in the playoffs than a team like Dallas or Colorado with crappy fairweather fans

I hope he gets an offer sheet the Oilers can't match cause they are anchored by all those 6x6s haha...

Dallas yes, but Colorado? They have fairly good fans for a non traditional market.
@boringmonahan: I thought Connor McDavid would be happy today but he wasn't.
