The real winners in this trade are those of us who can't stand reading about how lazy and terrible Glencross is every third post in the GT or PGT.

So who takes Glenny's spot now?
Baertschi? Wolf? Maybe McGrattan comes back up for one last NHL hurrah.

The Flames are a really really soft team. This makes them even softer.
Yes, Curtis took some dumd penalties over the years but he is one of the only players who finishes checks on a regular basis.

expiring contract…flames now pick 5 times in the first 90. IMO that is enough to trade quantity for quality, time to move on up in the draft…

Flames got both Washington's picks. Did not get Buffalo's
Craig Custance @CraigCustance
Flames tried hard to get Buffalo's third-round pick from Washington as part of that deal but it's the Capitals 3rd going back to Calgary

If the Flames and Glencross were going to come back together next season he just would have signed an extension.

Darn, this is still a good return for him though. Would have been a steal if we got that Buffalo third. Would have been picking 5 times in the top 65 or so.

More than a few? That's not accurate.
