I had a few birthdays there when I was SUPER young. I don't even remember the place or how it looked like but I know I was there. I was probably 4 or 5 when they closed.

My only memory of it outside of what I saw in pictures was a big tree thing in the middle??

My parents STILL have a set of coffee mugs from when I had my birthday at Easy Street.

At the Sunridge location, that would be correct. I don't think I went to Chinook. But in Sunridge there was a jungle theme and I believe the big tree made up part of the staircase and separated the minigolf from the rest of the place a bit.

Wow... I only have a vague recollection of Easystreet. Were they the ones that you needed to buy "tokens" -- I seem to recall them being $1 for 3 (which was quite the outrage for a poor young lad like myself because $0.33 was a lot more than the standard quarter for arcade games).

I might be a little older but I use to have my birthdays at Bullwinkles, man that place was the best.

I also remember that place in Market mall... Although I was older I believe. I don't know if I actually played there or just saw it haha.

Edit: I think it was called Bonkers?

Also jungle theme at the Chinook. I remember being 12 when it was around. Used to play (mostly watch as I wasn't good enough to hold the machine) mortal kombat there.

Also remember a group of kids from my junior high getting arrested after attempting to cash in prize tickets from a role of tickets they'd gotten there hands on.

Target starts the liquidation sales on Thursday. Say it will be like Black Friday.

I might have to go and see what they have left for children's clothes as that was the only thing that place was good for.

I see that the refrigerator section that used to have sour cream and meat now has bottled water and pop.

Depends on which version. The one with shopping frenzy and people bowling over one another or the one full of disappointment?

Day 1 of the liquidation is a huge disappointment. Ah well, can't say I'm surprised.

Is a lot of the merchandise already gone? We were at the Market Mall store a few days after the announcement that they were shutting down and mostly just looking at various toys. The toy shelves were pretty empty and a lot of stuff was upwards of 50% off. All the Lego was gone.

Which store did you go to? I wonder if it's worth checking to see if they have any video games.

Reports on Twitter aren't very encouraging. People are saying that most items aren't marked down very much considering it's a liquidation sale. The majority of products are, apparently, only set at 10-20% discounts.

Going to stop by the Market Mall location after class this morning just to see if they have anything worthwhile.

My wife went to the Shawnessy Target.

-Parking lot is packed so she's quite far away from the actual store.
-There's a line-up just to get a shopping cart.
-Movies are 20%
-Huge line-up to pay.
-Lots of people leaving without buying anything. Could be a combination of people not feeling it was worth waiting through the line to get what they wanted or people who went in expecting "Black Friday" mega clearance prices and being disappointed with "up to 30% off (some exceptions)" prices.

Yeah video games are only 10% off. Thinking of getting Bayonetta 2 since Nintendo games hardly ever go down in price.

People do know how these sales always work right?

Discounts start out low and then increase as it gets closer to actual closing. Why would they just throw everything at 50% off immediately. Is target Canada a separate company that is bankrupt? If so, they have a duty to squeeze out as much cash from the inventory as they can.
