No...I've never socked someone in the mouth while their gloves are on.
Hockey is a game that requires a lot of emotional maturity and self control. IF your immediate reaction to that is a cheap shot and punching someone in the face before they know they are in a fight, (IE you cant chirp or slash back, crosscheck, spear etc..) - you probably shouldnt play hockey. I always find a way to get even - not get stupid or cheap
One thing I LOVE about big ern is he knows the unwritten rules. He is classy and he always shows respect to whoever he fights, wether thats a tap on the back after he beats them up, or making sure they are ok, or patiently waiting for someone who actually WANTS to fight. AND he is still probably the most feared fighter in the NHL. Take notes Mr.Wolf

This text says he will join the flames this summer and he is in trouble because of his last fight..

I like it. Bring him in to camp and let him try out for a 4th line spot.

Stick him with Gaudreau and watch his temper boil over if he sees his wee little linemate get smashed into the boards.

Knocked out six teeth
First he felled opponent Jakub Ficenec, then he beat with his bare fists his colleagues Benedikt Schopper six teeth from the mouth. The German Ice Hockey League (DEL) on Wednesday imposed a drastic punishment and locked the professional the same for seven games. Wolf, who wants to make the jump to the NHL next season with the Calgary Flames, the standing on the brink of group stage Primus missing so in the decisive knockout games. In addition, he must pay a fine of 2,100 euros. The Disciplinary Committee of the DEL justified the punishment so that Wolf had begun "without apparent provocation" to strike with their bare fists: "Even visibly chipped it as the opponent to the ground, the player Wolf does not let up."

seems like Wolf can't go to the World Championships now because of the suspension in the DEL. According to IIHF rules, a player is not allowed to participate in international matches while he is still suspended in the league. The Germans could file for an exception, but at the moment they are undecided about this ... on the one hand, they don't want to "break their own rules", but on the other hand, they know that Wolf would undoubtedly strengthen their squad.

Nothing new regarding a transfer to the Flames. Virtually every German article about Wolf and/or the Freezers has the "he'll probably go to Calgary" sentence in it, but nothing has been confirmed at this point.

I don't like the comparisons to McGrattan. McGrattan is tough, but he isn't cheap or dirty. The guy has a lot of respect for his opponents.
I don't know about this Wolf guy. He seems kind of dirty.

1) What kind of cheap bull-**** headshot garbage was that? Screw this guy.
2) When you see a known goon try to headshot your line-mate, and you skate over to him and take exception and give him the business with your stick, you damn well better be ready to tango. If you get popped with your gloves on in this circumstance, take it as a life lesson: don't bark at dogs that bite.
Still looks like a total DB.

This is what I was thinking to. I love Mcgrattan one of my up most Favorite Flames but.. Because he respects players and only fights other goons which I get. The Flames need someone who will protect people no mater who they perpetrators are. Looking back this year with the Ference incident, merchand cheap shot on Monahan etc. No one did #### all including Mcgrattan. Well Glenx did "try" but he doesn't have that intimidation factor needed. Now at the same time Hartley would most likely set up parameters he'd except Wolf to retaliate. My vote is give home a invite to camp. If He earns a spot replace him for westgarth. Higher skill set. Or If we have a few more rookies to start the year a westgarth- wolf- Mcgrattan punish line.

Going by google translation here: Wolf said goodbye to the Freezers yesterday. Said his first choice was to come back to Hamburg if he came back to Germany.
Article says NHL announcement is expected in a few days, and Hamburg will get $240k as a transfer fee.

Anyone else thinking signing a big German directly correlates to the Flames drafting another big German?
Perhaps the German McSorley for the German Gretzky?
