I think it is fair that a player injured gets replaced with that replacement player. No extra pick needed, just replaced like in real life. But I'll leave that decision up to the boss and the populous vote.

I'm fine with them picking up what is left at the end of the completed draft and they can pick in order of when the injury was announced.

I still don't think it's all that fair when I am sure most people purposely steered clear of players with injury issues. Otherwise I would have taken Edler and/or Gaborik, but stayed away since I wasn't sure of their status going in. But I suppose this is something that should have been figured out beforehand, so what can you do...

Franzen has been injured since December as well, so this is an injury that was known about before the draft began. Unless he sustained it in the one game he played on Sunday.

Didn't Da_Chief already say there won't be any replacements anyway? I thought that was answered awhile back.

If the games were tomorrow it would make sense to not get a replacement from then onward but this early...?

My point is picking isn't even over yet so re-picking isn't outlandish to hope for...

Sure grab a replacement but you'll have to wait till the draft is complete.

I was thinking of making a rule where replacements are allowed but only from the original rosters but then the Semin pick gets a unfair advantage.
But that was when the draft was still ongoing.

I am a Nay, but if we allow for replacements, then we might as well just have another selection. Since this way it benefits the poster who's player gets injured first as opposed to the one who has a player who gets injured the day of the tournament.

I actually like the idea of giving him the player who replaces his lost player for the tournament, that seems kind of fair to me.

I also prefer the automatic replacement. If someone can't play, they get replaced by whoever gets named to the actual roster in their place.

Since Playful isn't waiting on me to make my pick I'm trying to find out as much information as I can regarding who is going to get the most games in goal. At this point Pavelec looks to get at least 1 game, while Niemi, Lehtonen, and others are dependent on another goalie getting hurt or struggling. I'll make my decision soon.

As for the replacement issue, I would suggest letting GMs who drafted someone who got hurt select replacements in the opposite order of the original draft order.

Yep, Sobotka out for me.

As someone with a vested interest in this now, I feel injury replacements should be the player who is actually named to replace the injured player. It's most fair really - we won't be getting an all-star, but also won't be screwed by having to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Well in Sobotka's case it could be Hudler who is a lot better then a lot of recent choices.

For injury replacements we'll only allow players that were origininally selected. So SeanCharles gets to pick first (since his higher selection is injured, Round 5 vs Round 9), then OutoftheCube.

So Charles and Cube pick new players from the original selections.
