Ill just leave this post from October I made. Yes I know he hasn't run or been voted in yet but still, not as crazy as it sounded a mere 4 months ago.

It didn't sound crazy then...can totally see Anders RUNNING for the Wild Rose leadership. Still can't see him WINNING the race.

Only hours after Calgary MP Rob Anders said he was mulling a run for the leadership of Alberta’s official opposition, the president of Alberta’s Wildrose Party confirmed Friday that the door was closed to the federal politician.

I knew the Wildrose Party wouldn't be stupid enough to let Anders take over.

Apparently they have a rule that all leadership candidates have to be party members for at least 6 months. They could have made an exception for Anders, but the party president chose not to.

@660News: The Wildrose has voted unanimously to deny Calgary MP Rob Anders' leadership application.

And here is the danger of patting ones-self on the back prematurely. One ends up looking foolish in the end.

Did you read the post? I acknowledge he wasn't even technically running or voted in, but that it was simply not as far fetched as it was a few months ago. But thanks.

Yes you were correct, it wasn't far fetch considering he tried to run.

I think people are just confused because you quoted a bunch of posts of people who said Wildrose wouldn't allow it to happen, which is also correct.

But you quoted them in a way to make it sound like they were contradicting you and therefore wrong... so your post was half wrong? I don't know...

No, in your bragging, you made it a point to highlight how you can "honestly see them picking up Anders as their leader". Then you basically criticized people who disagreed with you. Except the party has explicitly rejected Anders for leader.

The party president rejected Anders' bid to get the exemption to run. Who knows what the party membership would have done, they shot themselves and their MPs in the foot repeatedly, not like there was solid decision making going on at the member level.

That said, no need to argue further, we can all just be glad Anders remains jobless and hopefully returns to whatever cave he crawled out of.

Former Calgary MP Rob Anders faces tax evasion charges

Calgary West MP, who held seat from 1997 to 2015, was a long-time crusader for lower taxes

Technically, evading taxes is paying lower taxes in practice.

Yeah, I don't think this makes him a hypocrite, it confirms he is a twat though.
