I must be in the dog house because they told me they wasn't interested in signing me. Looks like I'll be on recruiting visits this yr.
He is still under contract for another year that's why Stamps are not interested in signing him. He's already signed. I am sure Nik is just fooling around with Twitter. Nik Lewis is one of my favorite Stampeder and I think there are going to be a lot of unhappy Stamps fans if they release him.
Zach Johnson tweeted last night that he is joining the Stampders. Here is an a article below from last week of him returning to Eastern Washington for their pro day workouts last Wednesday.
The Calgary Stampeders announced they’ve signed the NFL journeyman defensive lineman, who has played 89 games over six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.
They also annouced signing import defensive back Ryan Steed, who was a two-time Southern Conference All-Star at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
“We weren’t sure how frozen the ground was going to be but it turned out to be much better than expected and we were able to get started,” said McMahon Stadium manager John Haverstock. “With the weather expected to warm up over the weekend, we’re really going to be able to pick up the pace.”

“The turf certainly saw lots of use, not just from Stampeders games and practices, but also from the other teams that play at McMahon and all the amateur events that are put on here,” said Haverstock.

The new surface, like the old, is manufactured by industry leaders FieldTurf and consists of a polyethylene fibre mat together with infill material made up of silica sand and granulated rubber to create a soft and forgiving surface.
Quote:
“We went and visited other facilities with the surface and we also received input from (Stamps equipment manager) George Hopkins and (assistant general manager) Mike Petrie based on the players’ experience with turfs in other CFL stadiums,” said Haverstock. “FieldTurf does many, many fields across North America and in fact I believe its market share is greater than all of its competitors combined.”

Barring a dramatic weather-related setback — and this being Calgary, the possibility can’t be entirely dismissed — the new McMahon carpet is scheduled to be installed in time for the start of the Stamps’ rookie camp on May 29.
Scheduled improvements for the upcoming season include:
A new 30x50-foot scoreboard that will display high-definition videos and replays
A 11x-40-foot auxiliary scoreboard that will provide important messaging, live game stats and scoring
A new FieldTurf surface to replace the turf that was installed in 2006
Concourse expansion with additional washroom facilities and concessions
Enhanced pre-game Fan Zone with more food trucks, more entertainment and a seating area that will give fans the opportunity to start enjoying the game-day experience in advance of kickoff time
The expanded use of a Fan Hotline that will allow fans to anonymously contact security and report an issue in the stands that is detracting from their enjoyment of the game
The new scoreboard looks cool, finally replacing the outdated one they have right now.

If the rumours that Flames ownership want to build a combined Football/hockey stadium are true, I wonder how far away it really is if they're spending a few million(?) on upgrading McMahon.
Drew Tate says his right arm may not be 100% until 2015 or 2016.
Quote:
In hopes of keeping expectations realistic, Tate wants to set the record straight about his chronically troublesome elbow. On the positive side, his right arm feels better than at any point since the beginning of last year’s training camp. But …
“In my opinion, I’m probably not going to be 100 per cent until next year or the year after,” Tate says. “It’s something I’m just going to have to battle through and keep staying on top of it. Keep treating it, and make it strong.
“There is a little pain, but it’s not like a sharp pain. It’s usually just sore after I throw. It’s not a sharp pain after every throw. It’s usually after a session of throwing, it’s kind of sore. But that’s natural. That muscle is still rebuilding.”
The dry climate in Calgary is not an ally.
“Throwing down Texas and Alabama, it feels so much better than it does up here,” he says. “I honestly believe it’s because of the humidity. It takes a lot longer for me to get warmed up here. And even last year when we took off and went to Guelph? Oh man, it felt great. There’s just something about the humidity. It gets in there and it feels so much better.
“But I’m going to buy a humidifier and put it in my room and keep it humid while I sleep. Hopefully that will help. I’m just trying to find little tricks like that.”
