The people behind the Tea Party with the money seem to be losing their resolve on the debt ceiling at least. I bet that part gets resolved in time for the deadline.
The shutdown though, who knows. People be nuts.

Are you really? Are you prepared to do something about it and not reward their bad behavior by voting them back into office? I hear a lot of people talk about how broken Washington is, and how these politicians are greedy jerks looking out for themselves, but when election time comes around they vote their greedy jerk back in to represent them again. The problem isn't their greedy jerk, its all the others! The only way this stuff changes is if people get educated on the issues and vote based on issues rather than ideological hot issues that have no impact in the big picture.
CNN did a pretty good default domino effect to show what would happen:
I think some of these dominoes are already teetering, such as market confidence and consumer confidence.
One other domino effect that is almost unspeakable would be a run on the bank if people begin to feel that their money isn't safe. I guess they have the "savings" domino in there but I think they are referring to the inflation that will be rising.
