Although this makes the HFBoards Bossy vs. Ovechkin debate I have been reading a lot more interesting.
I'm extremely biased Bossy is my favorite player of all time, Ovechkin is a good player but i think and my opinion only that Bossy was on a different level than Ovechkin but again im biased and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

I agree that as of now Bossy is assuredly the better player, mostly because of what he did in the playoffs (whereas it's debatable who the superior regular season performer is), but I think eventually Ovechkin will overtake Bossy in terms of all-time greats. Ovechkin will likely end up a top 10-15 player of all time as I have said previously, so slightly above Bossy (especially if he wins a Cup). Also don't forget that during the Islanders dynasty Bossy was the third most important player on the team (behind Trottier and Potvin), so it's not like he was ever the franchise guy during that stretch of years.

Although like you I am biased towards Ovie since he's my favorite player in the game today... in part because he's made me quite a bit of money over the years. I am a pretty big Bossy fan though as well, just not on the same level as you obviously.

I had to double check the list to make sure he wasn't already taken. With the third best PPG and 5 most points of all time I am ecstatic to Select

With my next pick I am very proud to take Mario Lemieux... Pretty sure no one took him yet.

Whoa whaaaat? Absolutely the biggest steal ever in any draft. Insanity. How in the hell??

Edit: oh I get it now. A jab at the Dionne pick.

I'll have to take Gretzky then. Magnum PEI took Paulina instead.

I would disagree with putting him third behind Trottier. I know Arbour loved Trottier and 6 Stanley Cups are hard to argue against but Bossy was capable of putting up a goal-per-game in the playoffs, put up 50 or more goals in ever season he played except his last (which even then was 38 in 63 games) and was the first player in close to 40 years to go 50-in-50. Trottier was that all around center any teams wants, so I can't really argue against those who would pick him over Bossy, but I don't think it's very clear cut. Might even have to go season by season on those guys to decide and at the end of the day they each got a Conn Smythe. Oddly enough Potvin didn't.

Might as well take a former Flame. Pretty hatted on here but he had to have been a good player seeing as the Stars gave up Iginla for him. Anyhow with the 76th pick in the draft, team Ninja is pleased to select: From Oshawa, Ontario, Joe Nieuwendyk

Should fit in well as my second line center.
