This is a completely different universe from the other Batman films. And sorry it is the Gotham University team, not their pro football team. I didn't include that part. But still doesn't matter, as the Nolan films have nothing to do with this universe.

I was under the impression that TDK Trilogy was in a vacuum. Nolan said in that continuity Batman is the only superhero.

Snyder had a Q&A this weekend to promote Man of Steel's release on blu ray, the video for the interview is in the link:

Along the way, he addressed the death of Zod at Superman's hands, defended the wanton destruction of Metropolis and teased a few hints about the next film's villain, Lex Luthor.

In regards to the sequel, Snyder said Luthor will enjoy calling Superman "an alien," and to expect a physical confrontation between Batman and Superman. "Whether they start off fighting and then they're friends or they're friends and then they fight, the question is emotionally how do they fit together?"

Good choice, but they're definitely going to have a lot on the line for this movie. They might even be overdoing it at this point, and are trying to add too much for just one movie.

Adding Wonder woman in this movie could be a terrible idea. You never want too many key characters in a movie - keep it simple

They had to get the big three on the screen together at some point, I didn't expect it to be in this movie though. I think it will be fine, might actually help distract people from the new Batman they already hate.

I am more interested to see who they plan to cast for the JL movie.. wonder if we get any hints in this one.

"Game of Thrones" alum Jason Momoa may be the next addition to 2015's "Man of Steel" sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade publication cites sources saying Momoa is in negotiations to join the film's cast in an unspecified role, with THR speculating that it may be alien supervillain Doomsday or Justice League mainstay Martian Manhunter.

Interesting quote by Arrow actor Stephen Amell about merging with the Man of Steel sequel:

Amell gave the website a juicy tidbit -- namely, that there's been some talks at a studio level for him to merge with the DC movieverse being created with the "Man of Steel" sequel.

“I have had discussions, but I think the gestation process for this project is a lot slower than most people think," Amell told Fandango. "I mean, they haven't even shot the next one. They haven't even shot a frame of the movie before the movie everyone thinks is the 'Justice League' movie!”

Maybe this is part of the delay? Rumour has it that they want to introduce all of the characters that will be a part of the JL movie in the sequel.. and that is why they pushed it back.

The rumoured cast has been Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman (all cast), Green Lantern (Ryan Reynolds vs. going the John Stewart route) and The Flash... Green Arrow as part of the movie is news to me.

In Kevin Smith's Hollywood Babble On podcast, he said the rumor going around was that the reason the movie got bumped back a year was because it was turning into the JLA movie.

The Rock would be a very poor choice to play GL.

Idris Elba on the other hand would be perfecly suitable for the role.
