This I doubt. Our team is young and has very limited NHL experience as a whole. We will be in the top 5 next year if Feaster doesn't make some mega deals for NHL ready guys now. I know they are "re-tooling" and not rebuilding...this is just a bunch of crap terminology, this is a complete rebuild and you will see once they trade Glencross, Gio and Cammy this summer or at the deadline.

The team is rebuilding. But the team isn't rebuilding through the draft. You saw in the moves that Feaster made, he wanted prospects who were ready to play in the NHL in a year or two. That's why Feaster liked Boston's offer over Pittsburgh for Iginla even though the Pens offer was a guaranteed first round pick.

Well, lets hope he and his team (we all know it isn't just Feaster making these decisions) of advisors don't make a trade with this pick unless it makes us better for the future and it is a 1C. this is really the only acceptable result from trading the #6 pick this year. And it has to happen without trading Brodie or Sven. I think anyone else is up for grabs.

Boston's offer was a guaranteed first round pick too.

This is interesting. I could see moving the sixth pick for an already proven, elite centreman. Let's say 23 or younger.

I agree with this, only way Feaster can say yes to this and not give up Sven or Brodie in the process.

Thanks for reminding me to migrate CP to the fastest servers for tomorrow - I almost forgot. The pounding they take could be epic.

Pure speculation but interesting to see rumors out of Buf that may lend some credence to my thought.
[Edit] To be clear, not sure I like the idea or not, think I'd rather Lindholm or Monahan, but not totally against it either.

It makes sense. The Flames are weak in d prospects. If they have their eye on a Mueller, Morin, or Hagg, and they don't think they'll drop to 22, the win would be getting that 16th. Maybe they wait to see who Carolina takes, and if it's their guy (out of Monahan/Lindholm), that's when they pull the trigger to swap with the Sabres.

I trust that most trade rumours are so far from reality, I would be a fool to worry about them. The only sane reaction is to laugh and move on.

Just to spread the paranoia around a little more.

Isn't PUCKS hockey's version of Moneyball?

Moneyball is valid in Baseball since it's basically a 1 on 1 game. Hockey isn't. I hate when people reference moneyball like it will work in Hockey.

PUCKS sounds pretty neat. Gives the players tools to review tape and tendencies of their opponents on their iPhones while heading to the game. I'd like to see it in action.
