Defensive tackles Micah Johnson (ACL tear) and Demonte’ Bolden (MCL sprain) will also miss the Nov. 17 home playoff date.
Junior Turner and Etienne Legare will likely fill in on the defensive line, while Earl Okine and/or Freddie Bishop III could be activated from the practice roster.
McDaniel, the Stamps most reliable receiver from Day 1 this season, will be impossible to replace.
If Joe West is able to return from his shoulder ailment, the Stamps may elect to move impressive rookie Jeff Fuller into the slot.
Or ... maybe Nik Lewis makes a miraculous comeback from his broken leg suffered earlier this season at BC Place.
Lewis has repeatedly insisted he wants to play again this season, but the coaching staff, so far, hasn’t shared his optimism.

Jon Cornish is up for two of the CFL's top individual awards. The Calgary Stampeders running back was named the West Division finalist for the CFL's outstanding player and top Canadian honours Thursday in voting conducted by the Football Reporters of Canada and the league's eight head coaches.
Cornish was the lone multiple finalist and one of four Stampeders to receive West Division nominations. The others include defensive end Charleston Hughes (defensive player), centre Brett Jones (rookie) and kicker Rene Paredes (special-teams player).

we could win all 5 of those awards...only one I dont know about is rookie, Gable is pretty damned good but didnt play the whole year. Hard not to give Hughes the def award and Parades has got to be a shoe in. Jon should easily win both.
This is surprising though.
There were no unanimous selections. A record eight Canadians received nominations

I think the Stamps win all the awards they are nominated for easily, except I think Gable takes the rookie award. I can see LaBatte taking the lineman award and West sweeping the awards.
However, if Ray was healthy all season he would easily win MOP due to his ridiculous numbers and (most importantly) he is a QB....

I actually think Jones got a shot of the rookie award. Brett Jones position is one of the tough one to play for a veteran OLine let alone a rookie. It's unheard of how many rookies had any success playing that position and all 18 games? CJ Gable is one of the future star in the CFL and I definitely agree with you that he did not play the whole year. Not sure who is voting for this award. If the Eastern reporters does, then Jones might be screwed.
I think Cornish will win both awards. The only thing that scares me is that Ricky Ray is playing for Toronto.. I don't think Ricky Ray is more deserving. Toronto was fine when Ray was out.
If one of the Stamps will lose an award, it will probably be Hughes against the media darling Chip Cox. Otherwise, I see a Western Division sweep this season but i don't think the Eastern voters will allow that to happen.

Early forecast for next sunday:
High: -8 (feels like -16)
Low: -16
1-3 cm of snow
Wind 15 km/h
If the weather gets nasty, I would normally take Calgary's run game over Saskatchewan's, but with our two starting DT's out, that's a big question mark. May not miss a beat putting in two fresh bodies, but the experience obviously isn't there.

And I would argue that bad weather favors the Stamps as Cornish is much more of a "north-south" runner whereas Sheets is more shifty and is excellent at cut backs etc., those are much more difficult to execute when the weather changes.
And I would say in general, the Stamps offense would be favored. Ball control over big play, just my opinion.

“@Fan960Pinder: Huff: Joe West, Jon Gott & Brett Jones should be in for the Stamps. 2 DTs injured in week 19 will be out. Kevin Glenn will start. #CFL”

Stamps OL J'Micheal Deane (shoulder) didn't practise today and he's extremely doubtful for West Final. #CFL #calstampeders

Looks like Mo Price is in for a bit of a position switch for West Final... Fuller and West outside and Price in the slot is intriguing #CFL

^^^ I think Fuller goes to slot with Mo on the outside. Fuller is almost prototypical for that inside slot. Maybe Huff is trying them all to see who picks up the position the best.

Bad weather usually favors the lesser team, as it levels the playing field by taking away the skill imbalance. The worse the conditions, the more random the outcome will be. Not good news for the Stamps.

I like the thought of Fuller playing outside and bringing Price into the slot -- it increases the amount of touches Price can get, and gives Fuller those one-on-one match-ups out on the island. Hopefully Price can break one on Sunday -- he ran 2 or 3 of those hitch passes for TD's last year but I don't remember him doing it this year.

Looking at ticketmaster and this game is close to being sold out! Probably only 1500-1800 tickets left. Lets sell out the joint with more red jersey's!

It would be sweet if Nik could make it back at some point of the playoffs. Huff keeps hush hush on it until the day of

I disagree in this situation. Cold snowy weather means more of a run game. This benefits Cornish since he finds hols and pretty much runs a straight route though said hole. Sheets cuts back and fourth all over the place which is not ideal in cold or snow.

The seats being sold this week are going to Riders fans for the most part. They will be the reason this game sells out, if it does.

The strength of the Riders D is their front 7, in particular their line (not that it really stopped Cornish last time). Poor weather will potentially impact the passing game which will theoretically allow Saskatchewan to focus on stopping the run. Calgary also lost their 2 starting D tackles so I am of the opinion that poor weather forcing the teams to run more slightly favors Saskatchewan.

It is safe to assume that had BC won, this game would still have 5000+ tickets available an hour before kickoff.

So what's your point? I noticed a lot of empty seats at the B.C v Roughriders game last week.
