Dumping full bouw salary is crazy. I actually didn't beleive they COULD get rid of him at that price. The return they got at that salary is solid, and about what I expected (would be better if it was half salary but obviously people weren't willing to pay it.)

Maybe they weren't willing to do that and that is why all Feaster got is this.

I've seen Berra over here. He is good ... but you just never know how those Euro goalies will fare in North America. But from what I have seen from Berra, he seems solid. Can't really give a scouting report on strengths/weaknesses, I haven't paid that much attention to him when I have seen a game of Biel ... other than thinking "that Berra kid is quite good" from time to time.

Interesting. Thanks. Another bullet in the chamber in terms of the goalie situation.

The "BLARGGGHHH I've never heard of them so they must suck!" saying applies to some in this thread. Cundari looks like a quality prospect, 22 and already 3 years in the AHL. And we get a 1st or else a 4th and a 1st next year.
We also just shed another 6.6 million off our cap, bringing our total to around 14 million, without taking on a single dollar.
People need to relax. We'll know in a few years if all these prospects are garbage or not, no way to tell now regardless if they were on or off the radar.

No offence to those who follow minor league players but do you think that maybe Feaster and company know far more than most posters here? I don't think it's just him making the decision but his entire staff. The Flames now have three first round picks. Is that what everyone was clamouring about to begin with? Maybe these guys work out. No one can really tell because no one has really heard of them until today probably. Just like those players we got from the Iginla trade. Maybe everyone just needs to wait and see and just enjoy the fact that we're really rebuilding.

I've seen a little bit of Berra (Had him briefly on my CPHL team)
He's a tall goalie, that is generally solid. There are some weaknesses to his game. I'd compare him to Henrik Karlsson, but with more upside to put everything together.

I don't like the return but SERIOUSLY, stop having such high expectations and people won't be disappointed.
I am indifferent right now as Bouwmeester is not someone you build around and we got some value for him.
Next up is Kipper, Tanguay and Cammalleri

#### there are a lot of children on this forum. I can't believe how so many of you 'fans' are reacting. How can you possibly give an objective opinion to this trade. So many contributing factors none of us are privy to. Rig Pigs, IT, bankers, bartenders, realtors, lawyers, we're represented by all types of industries here but the topic of discussion. Do you really think you know better? Why? Because of your keeper league? Because you balance a chequebook? This forum is going mental.

I love how so many people on this forum expected a crazy return. We got a middle 1st round pick and a decent prospect defensemen. Hopefully we can grab a couple 2nd rounders.

This isn't last year tho? I don't understand people saying this? It defies logic... If JayBo had 15 goals this year, you don't value him based on last year?!
Really simple concept ... At least I thought it was...

Yep. Not the Oilers style. Suck after being forced to trade Pronger. Trade Smyth, and Stoll, and NOTHING ELSE. Keep Hemsky, Horcoff, Gilbert, etc, etc. The prospects look unpromising so far, but cap space and good use of the picks can be useful.
Now imagine this: The Blues miss the playoffs. We get the 4th and the 2014 1st. St Louis COMPLETELY bombs next year as do we. 3 top 5 picks in 2 years...

True, but I'd rather have the better rated player in the system for an extra year to develop.
