Flames didnt deserve 1 point in that game much less 2. In 3 calls alone they had 2 double minors and a major and in those 13 minutes of PP time they managed a grand total of 2 - TWO - shots on goal, and virtually zero pressure. Pathetic.
They appeared to actually try for about 10 minutes and then coasted for the rest of the game. Forget about a 60 minute game, how about trying to put in even 30 minutes of effort.
No chance in hell this team makes the playoffs.

the "take the point and move on" cliche is the most over-used and frankly embarrassing cliche frequently spewed on this board.
if they don't learn from games like these, they will remain to be a mediocre, water-treading wheel-spinning club stuck around the 0.500 mark below the 8th spot

it doesn't hold a candle to the Einstein insanity quote.
Also just curious, what exactly did you expect from a bubble team? I can't speak for you or anyone but myself but I had this insane notion that a bubble team would be a team sitting within a handful of points from 8th (in either direction) and would struggle putting together 3+ game winning streaks.

Then he tied his hopes on a softy euro centremen this year who he never saw play and is now a winger.
If Feaster thinks that losing over 60% of your faceoffs is not a big deal, then he clearly knows nothing about the game. It's the little things like winning faceoffs and having puck control that help you dictate the game. Where the hell are his advisors in all this? Conroy of all people should understand the importance of quality centremen. FFS COnnie, come out of retirement and get in there because if you can't open Feaster's eyes to the importance of this position, then you are better off on the ice.
|
In his defense, at least Feaster tried to address the need with Cervenka. Yes, had he taken English lessons to improve on ice communication and had he not got a blood clot it may have turned out better. But considering what is out there and who would come to Calgary as a FA he did bring in a top talent from the KHL. Many of us were excited, myself included, as it represented a change in tactics from past management. Too bad it hasn't worked out.

Wow! The suicide booth is working overtime tonight. Level out the mood swings people, some are flying really high after two wins, and now you want to cut yourselves after getting a point on the road.
I don't see the embarrassment. 3rd game in 4 nights. Held the lead for most of the game, and came away with a point. Learn what you can from it, but blow it up? Let's see where this bubble team is at at the trade deadline, when teams will actually pay for some of our assets, before we knee jerk ourselves into oblivion.

Good lord. Glencross, Cammy and Stempniak were the three best players on the ice for the Yotes and played consistently great hockey on almost all of their shifts.
WTF.

Counting the play he made to break up an identical cross ice pass only moments before, the guy saved the game twice in about 20 seconds with brilliant plays.
He's looking very very solid right now. It's great to see.

Yep, flames were lucky to escape with a point.
9 shots total in the final 2 periods? Yikes.
Outshot 20 - 9 in the final 40, two posts, a giordano goal line robbery and Joey McDonald's best save as a flame with 13 seconds left in regulation.
Coyle should get at least 5 games for that one. Very late and targeting only the head. Hope stajan is ok.
