For practicing with the team only. If its about contracts nobody put a gun to Feaster's head to resign Comeau or Begin, or Babchuk for that matter.

From the Flames mobile app, on Sven
Quote:
.“With our medical staff, we’ll evaluate if he’s good enough to be on the trip with us – definitely not play but just get him with the team and maybe tomorrow morning he can skate in Dallas,” Hartley said. “I’m not sure yet.”
The 20-year-old had rejoined his teammates for some skates at Scotiabank Saddledome, but was returned to a solo setting for precautionary reasons.
“He was with us for a couple of days and it didn’t feel right,” Hartley said. “We pulled him back, we got him back in the gym. For I believe the last two days he’s been skating by himself in the morning.”

No sorry, he's with the team but comes off waivers tomorrow at 10am.

even if he clears waivers he doesn't have to be sent down.

CP is imploding. I think CP may be a mess.

Or some of us are looking at the schedule and the flames have squandered home dates. April they play mostly on the road.
The 2 best home games for February where when opposing teams played the night before. I am really not sure how bad or good this team can be.

Are there any rumors out there about what could be about to happen?
I can't see them moving Jones only to sign Arnott, as they have room as of today with only 49 contracts. My hope is that they are looking to move two players for three in return and need the spot.
We shall see soon I guess!

Yup, I think intellectual honesty is up for debate if one considers the flames quality vs performance thus far. Of their 4 wins (least in the NHL) 2 have been against teams on the road on the second of a back to back. Against fresh competition, deemed quality opponents in the conference, the nucks and blues have more or less shown it's men against boys.
Jones being is waived is relatively minor news, but when u consider how useless jackman and comeau are, yet a center with some grit and can a face off is deemed useless to the team, it isn't surprising for the fans to be questioning what is going on with the franchise and roster.
Maybe kipper getting hurt has been the eye opener we all need. This roster is brutal, and without allstar goaltending is a bottom feeder team in this league.

Any team without decent goaltending (doesnt have to be allstar) will struggle to make the playoffs.

I think many are "imploding" over the situation of the organization in general, not because we're below .500.

Agreed.
I actually think the flames need allstar goaltending to be a 10th place team (or whatever they have been the past few years). Decent goaltending isn't enough for the quality of the forwards/defense on this roster.

Maybe not the thread for it, but ...
Quote:
The Flames have adjusted quickly to Hartley’s offensive scheme, but the coach feels Calgary needs to further address play in their own end.
“What we’re creating is fine, it’s what we’re giving,” Hartley said. “We’re not Amnesty International. We’re way too generous. We need to play to win some games. We played a great second and third period, but at the end of the day it’s a waste.”
More specifically, Hartley said the Flames need to limit the number of bad turnovers.
“For me it’s the bad giveaways,” Hartley said. “Bad giveaways and you can almost get closed to stupid giveaways. That’s what kills us. It seems that we have to double up and understand the urgency of playing well in our zone. It seems that, the word fear is not a good word because you should have no fear when you play the game. You should be confident and whatever happens, happens.”

Real fans will stick around through a rebuild. No worries.
Hopefully Iginla goes next.

The situation is that the team is a few games into a significantly new approach. If the team was a game or two better this conversation would have a different tone. It absolutely is the fact that the changes have not shown immediate results of a certain kind

Bad giveaways are the result of no support from the forwards. It's the same old story here. Been like that for years. Some games, the forwards will decide to come back and help, and the team will win some games, but they ALWAYS revert back to flying the zone early and just being lazy ####s. The forwards don't like to help the defencemen. Until that changes, this team will never make the playoffs.

Jones.........I guess I'll see how the situation unfolds and what other moves are made before I slam Feaster over the waiver decision.
But Comeau centering Iginla? Sometimes all you can do is laugh.................what a truly strange move.

Not always. They can also be individual unforced giveaways.
Cammalleri's last night was a perfect example.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the "implosion" has very little, if any at all, to do with the past 12 games. It has to do with the complete lack of foresight this organization possesses and the pattern of the last 250 odd games. To put it simply, we are a second rate organization, and occasionally small moves like this lead to people "imploding". It would be forgivable if this team had a good track record, but this is simply more of the same, a symptom of a much bigger disease.
