The Liberals really lost a potential star candidate when Marc Carney took the job as bank of England governor, he's the kind of person who could have really built the party into a credible entity again.

Maybe once his term is over he will come back to save them... another 7 years of CPC majority?

This guy is just such a typical politician....no...he is actually in a league of his own. Lots of feds flip flop on positions, but 3 days apart?

On Friday, Trudeau, at a campaign stop in the eastern Ontario town of Hawkesbury, was asked about his position on the controversial registry and replied, "I do see that the long-gun registry, as it was, was a failure and I am not going to resuscitate that."

On Monday, though, asked in St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., by reporters for some clarification on his Friday comments, Trudeau had something slightly different to say: "If we had a vote tomorrow, I would vote once again to keep the long-gun registry."

he's like a younger version of Mitt Romney. spoiled upbringing, no core beliefs, will say anything to try to appeal to whomever his audience is at any given moment, and wants to be President/PM simply for the recognition. if the Liberals actually elect this guy as their leader then that party is truly doomed

Interesting comparison. At first I naturally recoiled from it, but you may have a point.

Who was the female candidate that began her campaign in Calgary as well? She seemed pretty intelligent and full of good ideas and values when I heard her speak that day, but I haven't heard anything about her since. Probably cause of Trudeau and his name recognition partially.

What is the value of reporting every political flip-flop in an attempt to support your partisan arguments?

We could fill this thread with Harper flip-flops, Trudeau flip-flops, Danielle Smith flip-flops, NDP flip-flops, Nenshi flip-flops, Rob Ford flip-flops, etc.

Does it contribute to the debate? Is it persuasive? No, it's just additional ammo for the paritsans to use. What a waste of time.

it was 3 days apart. and it wasn't some vague comments that might be interpreted as a flip-flop, he said the exact opposite of what he did 72 hours ago

If junior wants to be the leaders of the Liberal's he's going to have to get used to it. Afterall he's positioned himself as the savior of the party and oh soooo cool with the media.

Lets face it he's today's news, and that's not going to stop until the guy figures out how to grow a brain.

His handlers have been an utter disaster so far.

Trudeau Jr is a playboy with a strong political heritage but has little substance himself. Unfortunately he does have a media following that could pose a problem to the PC's next election.
His Eastern Canada media support and appearance along with popularity amongst especially women in the East could something the Liberals can build off of.
Personally i think the guy is a shrew that will make decision intentionally hard on the prairies and even more cozy for Quebec given the chance.
