Does anyone know what happened to Rick Lafitt?

Boomer was suspended until the end of the season which was yesterday. Should he have been back today?
I note that his bio page is still on the sportsnet website but there is no info on it. I also note that the mornig show description only mentions Andrew Walker. Boomers picture also used to be the avatar for the morning show even after he was suspended but now its just the SN960 logo.
Just wondering if Boomer is going to be back or if he is gone for good?

I wonder if they will hold out till lockout is over to replace Griffiths? Or is Loubardias stepping in pretty much a no-brainer?

Great question I always really liked Rick, obviously he could never be a host but he actually watched and knew a ton about sports, which is more than i can say for someone like Bryn. Also i guess Rick was a producer, and it seems like Jason Deforest produces everything now. Wonder if he just got replaced?

Bryn tweeted yesterday that he had two weeks left.

I was listening to QR77 for the grey cup yesterday and heard Dave Rowe. The state of the Fan960 team lately made me miss him, and that is saying a lot.

So a genuine question then, since it seems there isn't a single contributor on fan960 that has good approval ratings- How is a a low rated station in a medium sized market supposed to attract talent when the compensation is probably not great for a career radio personality? The staples in Calgary radio (Forbes, Rutherford) that do have a large fan base are probably paid fairly well, and need to be in order to keep them in this market. How is the fan supposed to attract decent talent when it is very difficult to compensate them with larger market, or television, kind of money? Or, do they have a decent budget to work with thanks to Rogers and this is a completely inaccurate assessment??
I myself am ok with most of the personalities on 960, but that doesn't seem to be the consenus with everyone else. My issue is more with content selection

Painful today to listen to the guys attempt to explain decertification on the radio.
Spoiler: They couldn't and were completely unable to articulate it. Didn't even try to hide their lack of knowledge.

In their defense, none of them got into the sports talk game to explain the finer points of a labor union decertifying.
We're now at the stage where it's not even their fault, there's literally nothing to talk about anymore.

Bring a guest on then to talk about it. A couple of articles have been written about it already, with interviews with labour lawyers...

I know it is slow times at the FAN but a labor lawyer talking about decertification sounds about as bad as talk radio can get.

But then people might actually know what it means, whether it's a realistic option, etc., instead of listening to idiots like Kypreos talk about it.
What did happen to Lafitte? He was a solid contributor.
Interesting point above re compensation. I wonder what they are able to pay these guys. A friend of a friend is/was a morning DJ in Saskatoon and made circa $150K/year. Richards was probably very well paid to move here from Toronto. Aside from fill-ins (loumbardias, Kerr), it looks like all they have now is discount scrubs (Bryn) and "homegrown" (read "cheap") talent like Steinberg...

150k in Saskatoon? That seems nuts from what I have heard from people that I know in the industry and what they make. Didn't think a small market like Saskatoon would have that kind of money to throw around.
As for the lawyer talk I am going off listening to the SI law expert talk about it on PTS and it was boring and didn't really explain much more than what others had said.

I hadn't heard Bryn was leaving till now - commencing happy dance in 3...2...1!!!!!
As for the rest, I'd be glad to have Loubardias step in to the afternoon show - he's knowledgeable & has opinions that he can back up well, unlike Bryn whose sole purpose seems to be making (stupid/bad) jokes to tease Pat and talking about all his time spent working for various teams.
Frankly, I miss Kerr like crazy on the afternoon show and Bryn has made it worse by being so inferior to Rob as a host in pretty much all ways.
The morning show is okay now that Warrener is back from 7 to 9 every day. I enjoy the chemistry between Boomer, Walker & Rhett, even if there's essentially nothing to talk about anymore.
