Its his style, and I for one enjoy the fact its different from most. Especially in this video he expresses the anger and frustration so many of us feel about this ever growing anti GMO movement which is based on so much nonsense and fear mongering.
Sometimes you have to yell at people to get their attention, calm, rationed, reasonable debate isn't always enough; just add him as a friend and check out the wall debates on GMO, you have to shake people sometimes and this is one tactic among many.

As someone who speaks out against those who deny climate change—again and again and again and again—I knew exactly what Marshall Shepherd, the 2013 president of the American Meteorological Society, meant the moment he talked about having to slay the “zombie theories of climate science.”
These are ideas that cannot be killed, no matter how thoroughly they are debunked. They always rise to shamble again, reanimated by the deniosphere. “The Hockey Stick is broken”, “the world hasn’t warmed in 16 years”, “Antarctic ice is growing.” These ideas are all wrong, demonstrably so, but they are still walking the countryside, looking to eat innocent people’s brains.
The only way to slay these undead specters is to keep hammering them, repeating the facts, getting the word out there, and making the message palatable to the folks who may not have all the information they need to make an informed decision on global warming.
Which brings us back to Shepherd. He gave a great TEDxAtlanta talk where he takes on the teeming mass of climate change denial zombie ideas.
Dozens of letters (including one signed by the majority of Women in Secularism speakers) were sent to the Center for Inquiry’s Board of Directors, begging them to do something to restore CFI’s reputation as a humanist organization that cares about women and their ongoing harassment.
I haven't read what Lindsay said/wrote, but even just glancing at things deliberate misinterpretation steps right up ("he responded by othering me as a person from an alternate universe who is a liar akin to the leadership of North Korea"), which basically tells me that the whole "discussion" is going to be empty rhetoric.
Seriously the whole feminism thing that seems to be dividing skeptic and similar blogs and forums is so dumb, I see hardly any actual communication and a lot of "you don't accept my position so you must be a militant feminist and/or male supremacist", which itself kind of funny if it wasn't so mind numbingly boring.
I mean I probably lean towards the "systemic harmful anti-woman attitudes still persist" side, but holy crap.

Oh no doubt, the Internet is full of terrible people who just react out of fear. And full of people who will write crazy things just for the lulz and aren't really serious.

Has there been a convincing Bigfoot film in the past 30 years? Not really. The trend continues.
The quality is still low, the evidence is still weak, the hoax factor is higher than ever. The bar must be raised for Bigfoot evidence. All we ever see is a load of crap. We’re supposed to buy this as evidence? Fail. Bigfoot will not be discovered on amateurish Bigfoot fanboy websites or YouTube. Anyone wanna bet me?
Oh man yeah, he is awsome, I haven't seen that Liverpool medium one yet, have to check that out!
There is one point in the show where the medium does a couple of readings at a TV studio, and then challenges Derren to do one of his own. Derren tells the sitter very plainly that he has no special powers, is not a psychic, and does not communicate with the dead, and then proceeds to do EXACTLY what the medium has done with other recipients. This is clearly very visibly upsetting to the medium, and he responds by then engaging the same sitter in an attempt to "one up" Derren.
I think my favourite is the séance, maybe only because Brown had me convinced through most of the episode that HE BELIEVED he was actually making contact with the dead. I can easily see how all the participants were so readily convinced. His induction of a religious conversion experience was also really impressive.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/catholic-pr...134722134.html The Vatican's new secretary of state said this week that clerical celibacy is open to discussion, signaling a shift in approach for the Roman Catholic Church under Pope Francis.
"Celibacy is not an institution but look, it is also true that you can discuss (it) because as you say this is not a dogma, a dogma of the church," Archbishop Pietro Parolin said in an interview with Venezuelan newspaper El Universal. "The efforts that the church made to keep ecclesiastical celibacy, to impose ecclesiastical celibacy, have to be taken into consideration. One cannot say simply that this belongs in the past."
Looks like celibacy is on the table for Catholic Priests now...
good that brings them into the 14th century anyways.
Using a test called DNA barcoding, a kind of genetic fingerprinting that has also been used to help uncover labeling fraud in the commercial seafood industry, Canadian researchers tested 44 bottles of popular supplements sold by 12 companies. They found that many were not what they claimed to be, and that pills labeled as popular herbs were often diluted — or replaced entirely — by cheap fillers like soybean, wheat and rice.
Wonder How Many Celiac's also take Herbal Medications.
